Unclear boundary between the cortex and medulla of lymph nodes

Lymph nodes are distributed in many parts of our body. When the body is in a healthy state, the lymph nodes are relatively small, soft and smooth, and cannot be easily felt. When there are health problems, the lymph nodes will be affected and some lesions will occur. If the lymph node connections are unclear during examination, it means that the lymph nodes are inflamed. Patients can choose Chinese medicine or Western medicine for treatment according to the situation.

Inflammation of lymph nodes

Bacterial infection

For example, acute inflammation in the mouth, face, etc. often causes swelling of the mandibular lymph nodes. The swollen lymph nodes are soft in texture and have good mobility, and generally return to normal as the inflammation disappears.

Viral infection

Measles, infectious mononucleosis, etc. can cause swollen lymph nodes. Sometimes lymphadenopathy has important diagnostic value, such as rubella, which often causes occipital lymphadenopathy.

Lymph node tuberculosis

The most common symptoms are enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, some of which may ulcerate and some may not, and it is sometimes difficult to distinguish them from lymphoma clinically. The diagnostic method is to perform lymph node puncture, smear and biopsy multiple times and in multiple locations to find the primary lesion of tuberculosis.

Lymph node metastasis

This type of lymph node is very hard, non-tender, and immobile. Especially in patients with gastric cancer and esophageal cancer, the small enlarged lymph nodes above the clavicle can be felt. Breast cancer patients should frequently palpate the axillary lymph nodes to determine whether the tumor has metastasized.

leukemia

The lymphadenopathy of this disease is systemic, but is most obvious in the neck, armpits, and groin. In addition to swollen lymph nodes, patients also have anemia, persistent fever, and the appearance of a large number of immature cells in the blood and bone marrow.

Lymphoma

Lymph node enlargement is more common in the neck. Lymphoma is a tumor that originates in lymph nodes or lymphatic tissue, and there are also some lesions outside the lymph nodes, such as damage to the tonsils, nasopharynx, gastrointestinal tract, spleen, etc.

This method has the medicinal effect of clearing away heat, detoxifying and removing dampness, and can be used to treat acute lymphangitis, in which one or several thread-like red lines appear on the wound of the lower limbs, which are hard and tender.

Water Chestnut Porridge

Peel and slice the water chestnuts, put them into the pot together with the cleaned glutinous rice, add water and simmer for porridge. Take it twice a day. The effect is that it can clear away heat and promote salivation. Mainly used to treat acute lymphangitis. Note: Water chestnut extract has an inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus.
