What is the stomach flu?

Many people have suffered from gastrointestinal colds in their daily lives, and this disease may also cause respiratory inflammation in patients, and may even be accompanied by symptoms of coughing, nausea and vomiting. What everyone should do in their daily lives is to pay attention to treatment, actively prevent and control, and choose appropriate methods to deal with it.

The microorganisms that cause upper respiratory tract inflammation are respiratory microorganisms that are deposited on the surface of the respiratory tract, and the respiratory microorganisms come from the inhaled air. The air contains air particles, which contain various microorganisms. They enter the respiratory tract with the inhaled air and are distributed in the nasal cavity, throat and trachea according to their particle size, becoming respiratory microorganisms [1]. The type of microorganism depends on the inhalation environment. The concentration depends on the growth status of the microorganisms inhaled into the ambient air. The higher the concentration and the faster the inhalation speed, the more airborne microorganisms will be deposited in the respiratory tract. Once the upper respiratory tract mucosa is damaged, the number of respiratory microorganisms determines the severity of the inflammation.

Sneezing (coughing) is the main cause of damage to the upper respiratory tract mucosa. Sneezing is caused by external factors stimulating the nasal mucosa and muscles. External factors include particulate matter (concentration and properties), temperature, light, etc.

The function of sneezing is to clear foreign objects from the respiratory tract. When you sneeze, a large amount of gas hits your lungs at high speed, causing narrowing of the upper respiratory tract and damage to the mucous membrane at the bends. At the same time, respiratory microorganisms enter under the damaged mucosa and cause inflammation.

According to the medical community, excessive exercise increases the chance of catching a cold.

Different outcomes due to different numbers of invading microorganisms[edit] When fewer microorganisms enter the submucosal membrane, the body's natural defense mechanisms are able to resist inflammation.

When more microorganisms enter, the inflammation under the mucosa will slowly spread into the nasal cavity and oral cavity (ears and eyes). Sores in the mouth and nose are considered to be caused by "heat".

When more microorganisms enter, inflammation of the nasopharynx can cause nasal symptoms such as nasal congestion and runny nose. It is a cold if there is no fever. Colds often heal quickly. But inflammation can often become severe, with elevated body temperatures turning into a cold.

When a large number of microorganisms enter, severe inflammation occurs and the body temperature rises rapidly. When it is particularly serious and the high fever persists for several days, it will cause malignant secondary diseases and even death.

The uncertainty of the factors that cause sneezing and the specificity of the body make sneezing individual. However, the concentration of air particles in closed rooms (air-conditioned rooms in summer) reaches its highest level in late autumn, winter and early spring, and the temperature difference between indoors and outdoors is large. The sudden change in temperature stimulates the nasal mucosa and body, inducing many people to sneeze, and then develop nasal symptoms and fever. This is a seasonal cold that causes mass harm.

Children are more susceptible to colds because they are more sensitive to external stimuli, have fragile upper respiratory tract mucosa, breathe faster and the air they inhale is worse.
