What are the treatments for knee effusion?

Knee joint effusion can have many impacts on the health of the knee joint. For patients, it must not be ignored. If serious pain problems occur, it will be a great obstacle to walking and life. Therefore, you must understand the correct treatment method, pay attention to prevention, and perform knee arthroscopy if necessary.

First, the main symptom of osteoarthritis is pain. The characteristic is pain when going up and down stairs or squatting. It is not serious at the beginning, but gradually worsens. The pain worsens when there is more activity, and gets better after rest. Some patients feel pain when they are still or when they get up in the morning, and it is relieved after a little activity. This is called rest pain. If there is excessive activity, pain can also occur. Pain is sometimes related to factors such as weather changes, dampness and cold. Patients often feel that the joints are not flexible and stiff. They cannot move immediately after getting up in the morning or after resting. It takes a certain amount of time and activity to relieve the stiffness. There are various different sounds when the joints move. When it develops to a certain extent, the joints are obviously swollen, the joints are effused, and the floating patella test is positive.

Second, this condition is a degenerative knee disease in the elderly. If it lasts for a long time, it can easily cause the narrowing of the knee joint space, osteoporosis, bone hyperplasia and joint dysfunction. The purpose of treating this disease is to delay the progression of the disease, and oral medication is used for symptomatic treatment.

Third, it is recommended to try the following treatments:

1: The effect of injecting sodium hyaluronate into the joint cavity (to nourish and lubricate the joint cavity) is good. It needs to be injected according to the course of treatment. When there is fluid accumulation, the fluid needs to be drained first to lavage the knee joint and then blocked with drugs.

2: Take Shujin Huoxue tablets, Fenbid capsules, Zhengqing Fengtongning tablets, or oral glucosamine hydrochloride capsules for treatment. At the same time, try applying analgesic ointment topically. You need to take the medicine under the guidance of a local doctor.

3: Prevention is very important to avoid excessive strain on the affected limb. Avoid excessive knee flexion, kneeling, squatting, etc. You can do straight leg raising activities to enhance quadriceps tension.

4: Local therapy, such as infrared therapy. Three times a day, twenty minutes each time.
