How is splenic angiosarcoma treated?

The problem of splenic hemangioma is a disease that patients need to pay attention to, and they also need to understand scientific methods in treatment. Now surgical treatment and chemotherapy can effectively reduce local recurrence and metastasis.

1. Surgical treatment is the main treatment for angiosarcoma. Preoperative or postoperative radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy are expected to reduce local recurrence or distant metastasis.

2. Surgical operation is the first choice. The surgical resection range is usually required to be 3 cm outside the base of the tumor that can be seen, and then 4 to 5 cm away from the subcutaneous tissue. Alternatively, the resection range can be determined based on the frozen section results during surgery.

3. If local excision is incomplete, radiotherapy can be used as an auxiliary. Literature reports that radiotherapy is effective. Despite this, the tumor recurrence rate is still high. About half of the patients have enlarged lymph nodes in the drainage area, and surgery often requires lymph node dissection at the same time. The incidence of this tumor is low, and it is not certain whether it is effective for chemotherapy.

4. The cause of this disease is mostly qi stagnation and blood stasis, or due to irregular diet, spleen deficiency and dysfunction, water and moisture cannot be transformed, which gathers and forms phlegm. The phlegm stagnates in the blood vessels and accumulates with blood and qi to form masses. The treatment of this disease should promote qi and soothe the liver, activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis, open the orifices and relieve pain, warm the meridians and dredge the collaterals, and promote qi and disperse stagnation.
