Purpura is a common and more serious allergic symptom. After suffering from purpura, purple patches will first appear on the skin, so it is called purpura. Henoch-Schönlein purpura is divided into abdominal type and articular type. As the name suggests, patients with abdominal type purpura will feel abdominal pain, while patients with articular type will feel joint pain. But why does Henoch-Schönlein purpura cause abdominal pain in patients? Abdominal Henoch-Schönlein purpura is more common. The following are some common symptoms. 1. Abdominal symptoms: Abdominal pain is the most common. Patients experience paroxysmal colic or dull pain around the navel and lower abdomen (especially on the right side), but sometimes it spreads to the entire abdomen. When the lesion is more severe, it may be accompanied by abdominal muscle tension, abdominal tenderness and hyperactive bowel sounds; in addition to the above symptoms, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, black stools and diarrhea are also common symptoms of this disease; irregular intestinal peristalsis can induce intussusception, and a mass can be felt in the abdomen, which is more common in children; when the lesion is severe, the patient may experience vomiting blood and intestinal perforation. 2. Skin purpura: often the first symptom, typically manifested as purple-red petechiae or ecchymoses slightly protruding from the skin surface. These ecchymoses often appear in batches and are distributed symmetrically. They may merge into flakes and are more common on the distal extensor sides of the limbs, buttocks, and lower abdomen, and may sometimes be accompanied by a certain degree of itching. 3. Associated symptoms: The lesions may affect large joints, but are more common in the knee, ankle, and wrist joints. The affected joints will experience migratory pain and swelling, which may be accompanied by local skin redness and slight movement disorders; kidney involvement often occurs within 1 to 8 months after the onset of purpura, and the main manifestations are hematuria, proteinuria, cylindrical urine, edema and hypertension, but the severity varies. When the disease is severe, patients may develop symptoms of renal failure; a small number of patients may also experience fever and headache. |
