Why does leucorrhea make me itchy?

Why does leucorrhea make me itchy?

Abnormal leucorrhea is a barometer of women's physical health. If there is an abnormality in leucorrhea, it means that there is something wrong with your physical health, which requires everyone's attention. Women must pay attention to personal hygiene and develop good hygiene habits. For example, some people have leucorrhea and itching symptoms. If this happens, it is best to pay attention to it and go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time.

Why is it itchy when leucorrhea comes out?

The symptoms of vaginal discharge accompanied by itching in women are mostly caused by inflammatory stimulation. The amount of vaginal secretions in normal women should be relatively small, and generally will not flow out of the vagina. If the vaginal secretions increase, symptoms of discharge may occur. Due to the special location of the vulva, adjacent to the urethra in front and the anus in the back, it is susceptible to bacterial infection. In addition, because the vulva is warm and humid, if the vaginal inflammatory secretions flow out and are not easy to evaporate, they will irritate the vulva, leading to vulvar inflammation, vulvar itching, redness, swelling, and even ulceration. At this time, vaginitis and vulvitis should be treated promptly. While taking medication for vulvitis, the vagina should also be cleaned promptly and medication should be used in a standardized manner.

Symptoms of vaginitis

Bacterial vaginosis

Distinctive features : White foamy vaginal discharge

Symptoms: Increased leucorrhea, which is grayish white, thin and foamy. The vaginal mucosa is congested, with scattered bleeding spots, itchy and burning sensation in the vulva, and a foul odor in the vulva.

Nonspecific vaginitis

Refers to vaginitis caused by bacteria other than Candida fungi and Trichomonas. These bacteria include Escherichia coli, Candida albicans, etc. Generally, these bacteria exist at the same time, but the specific principle is still unknown, so they are collectively called non-specific vaginitis.

Distinctive features: increased vaginal discharge, purulent, serous, and foul-smelling

Symptoms: A strong feeling of heaviness, distension, or burning in the lower abdomen and vagina, accompanied by pelvic pain and even general weakness. Vaginal discharge increases and becomes purulent, serous, and has a foul odor. Because the secretions irritate the urethral opening, it can cause frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating.

Fungal vaginitis

Distinctive features: Increased leucorrhea with a bean curd-like appearance

Symptoms: vulvar itching, vulvar and vaginal burning pain, increased leucorrhea with a tofu-dreg-like appearance, sometimes accompanied by frequent urination, frequent urination, and painful urination. During gynecological examination, white membrane-like substance can be seen attached to the inner side of the labia minora and the vaginal mucosa. After wiping, the red and swollen mucosal surface is exposed. In the acute phase, damaged erosive surfaces or superficial ulcers can be seen.

Trichomonas vaginitis

Distinctive features: Purulent leucorrhea, foamy

Symptoms: Increased leucorrhea, which is milky white or yellow, sometimes purulent, often foamy and smelly. In severe cases, there is bloody leucorrhea, dysuria, frequent urination, and hematuria.

Senile vaginitis

This type of inflammation is also called senile vaginitis. When women reach menopause, the function of their ovaries declines and the secretion of ovarian hormones decreases, causing the vaginal mucosa to become thinner and bacteria to breed in the vagina.

Distinctive features: vulvar itching, purulent vaginal discharge

Symptoms: Leucorrhea suddenly increases in volume and becomes yellow and watery, and may become pus-like in severe cases. In addition to itching and burning sensations in the vulva, there may be a feeling of heaviness or bloating in the lower abdomen, and there may be a small amount of bleeding. If the inflammation spreads to the urethra, it will be accompanied by phenomena such as urgency and frequency of urination.
