What medicine can cure thrush quickly?

Thrush, also known as oral thrush and albicans infection, is a common oral disease in children. White spots form on the surface of the oral mucosa, which is more common in infants and young children. This disease is caused by Candida albicans infection. The fungus is sometimes found in the mouth and can develop in infants who are malnourished or debilitated. Oral thrush is most common in infants under 2 years old. The child's oral mucosa develops a milky white, slightly raised, spotted membrane with no surrounding inflammatory reaction, shaped like a milk curd. It is painless. After wiping off the plaque membrane, a red wound without bleeding can be seen underneath. The plaques vary in size and may appear on the tongue, cheeks, palate, or inner lip mucosa. Oral thrush is common in the mucous membranes of the cheeks, tongue, soft palate and lips. The white patches are not easy to wipe off with a cotton swab or wet gauze. When the infection is mild, the white spots are difficult to detect and there is no obvious pain, or there is only a painful expression when eating. In severe cases, the baby will be irritable, have a poor appetite, cry, and have difficulty breastfeeding due to the pain, sometimes accompanied by a mild fever.

Children with thrush may become irritable, eat less, and refuse to eat because of the pain. If thrush spreads to the back of the mouth, the baby will feel uncomfortable when swallowing and may even refuse to drink water for fear of pain, which may lead to dehydration. In severe cases, the disease may spread to the throat and cause difficulty in swallowing. If the damaged mucosa is not treated in time, it may continue to expand and spread to the pharynx, tonsils, gums, etc. In severe cases, it may spread to the esophagus and bronchi, causing candidal esophagitis or pulmonary candidiasis, with breathing and swallowing difficulties. A few may develop chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis, affecting lifelong immune function.

So how do you treat oral thrush?

1. Don't rush to use antibiotics to treat thrush. You can use a cotton swab to dip some antimycotic solution and apply it to the affected area, or use 2% to 3% sodium bicarbonate solution to clean the child's mouth, or use a lower concentration of salt water to clean the mouth. After washing, apply some borax, glycerin and ice boron powder to the baby's affected area three or four times a day, and the baby will recover in a few days.

2. Secondly, doctors usually give nystatin to babies or to postpartum women. This drug can be given directly to babies or to postpartum women and absorbed by babies through breast milk. This drug can help babies inhibit the continued growth of white spots and is very effective.

3. Finally, you can use a sterilized cotton swab dipped in some soda water to clean the baby's mouth first, and then use antifungal drugs to treat thrush. Basically, you can see that the white spots are reduced in two or three days, and it will be cured in four or five days. However, it is best to go to the hospital for treatment, otherwise it will be bad if you use it improperly and the baby accidentally takes it.

In addition, the tableware used by infants and young children for eating should be cleaned and then steamed for 10 to 15 minutes. Breastfeeding mothers should clean the areola and nipples with warm water before feeding, and should take a bath, change underwear, cut their nails frequently, and wash their hands every time they hold their baby. Infants' bedding and toys should be washed and dried regularly. The baby's toiletries should be kept separate from the parents' as much as possible and disinfected regularly. Attention should be paid to isolation and disinfection of breastfeeding rooms in order to prevent transmission.
