This condition of heart qi deficiency is generally manifested by symptoms such as palpitations, shortness of breath, sweating, chest tightness, and discomfort. Patients will also appear pale and may even feel uncomfortable shaking. The treatment principle of traditional Chinese medicine is to replenish qi, so heart qi deficiency can be treated with traditional Chinese medicine, and recovery will be better and faster. Heart Qi deficiency is generally manifested by palpitations, shortness of breath, spontaneous sweating, chest tightness or pain which is aggravated after activity, pale complexion, fatigue, pale tongue, plump and tender tongue, white tongue coating, and irregular pulse. Deficiency of heart qi is mostly caused by insufficient constitution and congenital deficiency of heart qi; aging and physical frailty, which gradually weakens the internal organs; fatigue, excessive worry, which depletes the heart qi; or long-term illness which depletes both qi and blood and causes a lack of heart qi; or excessive sweating, which causes the heart qi to be lost, leading to insufficient heart qi. The principle of Chinese medicine conditioning treatment is mainly to nourish the heart qi. If the syndrome is mainly yang deficiency, you can use Yangxin Decoction with modifications: 15 grams of roasted Codonopsis pilosula, 15 grams of roasted Astragalus membranaceus, 30 grams of Ziziphus jujuba seeds, 15 grams of Poria, 15 grams of Angelica sinensis, 15 grams of white peony root, 15 grams of lily, 10 grams of cinnamon twig, and 10 grams of roasted licorice. If the yang deficiency is more severe, add 10 grams of processed aconite and 15 grams of epimedium. If the deficiency is more yin, you can use Zhigancao Decoction with modifications: 15 grams of roasted licorice, 15 grams of roasted Codonopsis, 15 grams of Rehmannia glutinosa, 15 grams of donkey-hide gelatin, 10 grams of Ophiopogon japonicus, 15 grams of sesame seed, 10 grams of lily, 10 grams of Magnolia officinalis, 6 grams of ginger, and 15 grams of jujube. If there is blood stasis, add salvia miltiorrhiza, safflower and other blood-activating and blood-stasis-removing drugs. If you have shortness of breath, add 5 grams of agarwood and 10 grams of gecko to strengthen the kidneys and relieve asthma. If the patient has poor sleep or lacks sleep, suffers from insomnia, nightmares, and is easily frightened, add 30 grams of Polygonum multiflorum and 30 grams of dragon bone to the Licorice Decoction. Acupuncture treatment is very effective. Generally, the acupoints that can be selected include Xinshu, Jueyinshu, Neiguan, Zusanli, Shenmen, etc. After the needle is inserted and qi is obtained, it can be left in for 15 to 20 minutes. Adding mild electroacupuncture stimulation will achieve better results. You can also use ear acupuncture therapy, applying Fenugreek to the acupoint corresponding to the heart in the ear. |
