Rational use of antibiotics

Rational use of antibiotics

The main function of antibiotics is to protect humans or animals from bacterial infection or transmission. In Africa, many animals may die from various diseases, but they can be saved after using antibiotics. It can be seen that antibiotics are quite important in saving lives. This is a chemical substance with a large variety and demand for dosage forms. Therefore, people sometimes abuse antibiotics, so the problem of antibiotic abuse needs to be solved.

There is nothing wrong with antibiotics themselves, but once a certain drug is abused, a series of problems will arise. For example, some people experience adverse reactions or allergies after using antibiotics, so we must adopt a rational attitude and measures towards the use of antibiotics.

The clinical pharmacology concept of rational use of antibiotics is to use antibiotics safely and effectively, that is, to ensure effectiveness under the premise of safety. This is the basic principle of rational use of antibiotics. Under normal circumstances, most newly used antibiotics will lose their effectiveness within a few years due to the development of drug resistance by pathogens. However, improper use has aggravated the rapid growth of drug-resistant bacteria. Due to the large amount of antibiotics used in clinical practice, the wide variety of antibiotics, the rapid updating of antibiotics, and the complex relationships between various drugs, combination therapy is increasing and preventive medication is becoming more widespread. Therefore, the incidence of adverse reactions and drug resistance to antibiotics in clinical practice is still increasing year by year.

The rational use of antibiotics requires specific analysis of each patient to develop an individualized treatment plan. There is no one fixed solution that applies to every situation. The author believes that rational selection and rational use of drugs are two crucial issues in the rational use of antibiotics.

There are still many related issues in the rational use of antibiotics, which cannot be explained in just a sentence or two. However, no matter what medicine is used excessively, drug resistance will occur. At this time, more advanced antibiotics need to be developed. In life, don't rely too much on antibiotics. Any medicine has its disadvantages, so try not to use medicine if you can overcome the symptoms yourself.
