The drug of choice for anxiety disorders

If the anxiety disorder is more serious, you can consider using some medication to treat it, which can achieve better relief. There are many drugs to treat anxiety disorder, the most common of which are benzodiazepines, which are also called tranquilizers. Their characteristic is that they take effect relatively quickly, usually within half an hour to an hour to achieve a certain therapeutic effect, and this drug is relatively cheap, and its side effects are relatively low.

The drug of choice for anxiety disorders

Anxiety disorder is a mood disorder with good treatment effects and a good prognosis, so even if you are diagnosed with anxiety disorder, you don't have to worry too much. Treatment for anxiety disorders usually includes medication and psychotherapy.

Drug treatment

1. Benzodiazepines (also known as tranquilizers)

1) Advantages: ① Fast effect, usually takes effect within 30-60 minutes

②Anti-anxiety effect is positive

③The price is generally cheaper

2) Disadvantages: ① The effect lasts for a short time and is not suitable for long-term and large-scale use

② There is a possibility of dependence. Tranquilizers are used to relieve anxiety, just like stepping on the brakes when driving too fast; they work but are not suitable for frequent use.

3) Commonly used drugs: Lorazepam (Lola): the usual dose is 2-3 times a day, 0.5-1.0 mg each time; Jiajingdia (also called alprazolam): the usual dose is 2-3 times a day, 0.4 mg each time; Oxazepam tablets (also called Youfei): the usual dose is 2-3 times a day, 15 mg each time. These three drugs are short- to medium-acting tranquilizers with good anti-anxiety effects and relatively weak sedative effects, which have less impact on daytime work. In fact, all tranquilizers can relieve anxiety, but the side effects and effects are different. The above three drugs are more commonly used.

Tips: Any medicine with "diazepam" or "zolam" after it is a tranquilizer.

4) How to use tranquilizers:

① Principle of intermittent medication: Take it temporarily orally when anxiety is severe, and do not take large amounts for a long time.

② Small dose principle: If a small dose works, then there is no need for a large dose.

③The principle of regular medication changes: If your condition requires long-term use of tranquilizers to fight anxiety, switching to another tranquilizer every 3-4 weeks can effectively avoid the development of dependence. Note that when changing medications, the dosage of the original medication should be reduced slowly, and the dosage of the new medication should be increased slowly. After the two medications have been taken alternately for a period of time, the original medication should be withdrawn, and the dosage of the new medication should be increased to the therapeutic dose. If the patient is older, the dosage is not large, and the therapeutic effect is good, there is no need to change the medication. As long as the dosage of tranquilizers does not increase, is within the normal range, and the therapeutic effect is not weakened, it can be considered that dependence has not occurred.

For patients with anxiety disorders, family members should pay more attention to them, especially mentally. They should encourage and support them more, give them more care, and let them feel the warmth of their family. Patients themselves should also try to maintain a positive and optimistic attitude and not set too high standards for themselves.

In terms of diet, patients should eat more fresh vegetables and fruits and drink more boiled water. In life, you should go to the hospital for regular check-ups and see a psychologist. Whether in life or work, don't demand too much of yourself. Communicate more with your family in life.
