Hemorrhoidal polyps should not be taken lightly. What are the symptoms of hemorrhoidal polyps?

Rectal polyps are one of the more common anorectal diseases in people's lives. They refer to neoplasms occurring on the rectal mucosa, mostly caused by chronic irritation from feces and are common benign tumors. So what are the symptoms of rectal disease?

Symptoms of rectal polyps

1. Painless blood in the stool: People with rectal polyps may experience blood in the stool, which is an important clinical symptom of rectal polyps. The blood is stained on the surface of the stool and the amount is not large.

2. Rectal prolapse: Rectal polyps with pedicles may protrude from the anus during defecation, forming a fleshy ball in the anus, which can return on its own after defecation.

3. Changes in bowel movements: including changes in bowel movement time and frequency, constipation or unexplained diarrhea.

4. Intestinal irritation: such as abdominal discomfort, abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloody stools, tenesmus, etc. Especially when constipation and diarrhea occur alternately or cause abdominal pain, you should be more vigilant.

The dangers of rectal polyps

1. Harm of rectal polyps and intussusception: Sometimes larger rectal polyps can also cause intussusception, resulting in intestinal obstruction and abdominal pain.

2. Prolapse caused by rectal polyps: When rectal polyps are large or numerous, gravity pulls on the intestinal mucosa, causing it to gradually separate from the muscle layer and prolapse downward. The traction caused by the patient's defecation movement and the stimulation of intestinal peristalsis can relax the mucosal layer around the base of the rectum, which may lead to rectal prolapse.

3. The dangers of rectal polyps and their easy transformation into cancer: Many patients with single polyps are likely to develop into multiple polyps if they do not pay attention to them in the early stages, and the chance of multiple polyps becoming cancerous is extremely high.
