How to apply plaster for lumbar disc herniation

How to apply plaster for lumbar disc herniation

Using some plasters to treat lumbar disc herniation is also a good traditional treatment method. For example, some black plasters are made of pure Chinese medicine, which has stronger medicinal properties and better therapeutic effects. During use, you must pay attention to the position of the plaster. If the position is not correct, it will not achieve a good therapeutic effect. Therefore, you must learn how to use the waist plaster and find the lumbar spine for treatment.

How to apply plaster for lumbar disc herniation

1. Find the location of the lumbar spine

There are 5 lumbar vertebrae connected to the thoracic vertebrae. Have the patient lie flat on his back and relax. Find the superior iliac spine (place your hands at your belly button and slowly draw straight lines to both sides. When you reach both sides of the body, feel down and you will feel two protruding parts, which are the superior iliac spine. This is also the bone below the belt.) Next, draw a straight line from the highest point of the two bones. The intersection of this straight line and the lumbar vertebra can be regarded as the fourth lumbar vertebra.

2. Where to place the cleaning cloth

After finding the lumbar vertebrae, wipe them clean with a wet towel, a hot towel is best. After applying, wait 1-2 minutes for your skin to dry. Wait until the skin is dry before applying it to prevent allergies and falling off.

3. Heating plaster patch

Peel off the isolation paper (similar to transparent plastic paper) on the plaster patch and use a hair dryer or other heating tool to heat the front of the patch. Heat the cloth plaster until it is folded in half and then separated to create a sticky, wire-drawing effect.

4. Find the right position and apply the cloth plaster

For example, if the L4/5 5/s1 is protruding, the center point of the plaster is 1-2 cm below the L4 segment, and it should be applied tightly and firmly.

For example, if 1/2 to 2/3 of the waist is protruding, the center point of the plaster should be 2-3 cm above the 4th segment of the waist, and it should be applied tightly and firmly.

Due to different personal heights, there may be some errors in the specific position.

5. How long should the cloth plaster be used?

Because cloth plasters have a large amount of medicine and are very strong, they can generally be used for 7 days and can be used repeatedly. Just peel it off when taking a bath, put it in the original packaging bag and seal it, then take it out and apply it after taking a bath, and make sure it is applied tightly and firmly. Some friends with extremely sensitive skin may have allergies. In this case, remove the plaster, apply dermatitis cream, rest for a few minutes, and then apply it again. Remember, the cloth plaster must be applied tightly and firmly. If the cloth plaster becomes loose due to sweating or excessive exercise, remove it, clean the area again, reheat it, and apply it again. If it is not attached tightly, it will affect the effect.
