What are the reactions to applying Sanfutie?

I believe everyone understands the principle that everything will turn into its opposite when it reaches its extreme. The more you do something, the worse the consequences will be. Similarly, in medicine, some drugs may help the body treat diseases when taken occasionally, but if taken for a long time, there may be side effects. Many people use Sanfutie to regulate their bodies during the dog days of summer. So, what are the adverse reactions of applying Sanfutie for a long time?

Drug allergy -

Patients who are allergic to drugs often experience local skin redness, swelling, and itching, and then systemic rashes or wheals. If the allergic reaction is severe, symptoms such as palpitations, chest tightness, and shortness of breath may occur. Drug allergy usually occurs after the first application. Sometimes it may not occur on the first application, but may appear after several applications. It usually occurs within minutes to hours after application.

Adhesive tape allergy

This phenomenon is not due to allergies caused by the drug itself, but rather due to allergies caused by materials such as adhesive tapes used during application. It generally only manifests as mild allergic symptoms, such as local skin rash and itching.

Skin burns and ulcers infection

When this happens, we can see relatively large blisters at the application site on the patient, the largest of which can be several centimeters in diameter. If the blisters rupture, the patient may suffer from serious infection or even suppuration.

Allergic contact dermatitis

It usually does not occur when the medicine is applied for the first time, but mostly occurs after the medicine is applied again. The symptoms are that 6 to 12 hours after the application, erythema appears at the site where the medicine was applied, and it gradually thickens, making it higher than the surrounding skin, and the boundary with the surrounding skin is very clear. If not treated in time, blisters will slowly form, and then gradually erode and exude. At this time, the patient may feel that the skin around the wound is extremely itchy.

The Sanfu plaster must not be applied for a long time. If applied for a long time, it may cause small blisters on the skin. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that blisters caused by application are a kind of blistering therapy. However, due to the hot weather now, damaged skin may be infected, so less irritating ointments are generally used, so blistering is less likely to occur.
