What is the reason why water comes out when pressing the toenails?

It is easy for water to come out of the toenails when pressed. In fact, this is a common suppuration phenomenon, which is mainly an inflammation problem caused by fungal infection. Of course, it may also be caused by local friction leading to toe damage, or inflammation and suppuration caused by other foreign body invasion. Therefore, you must pay attention to the correct drainage of pus, and pay attention to local disinfection, medication and bandaging to avoid making the situation worse.

1. The area around the nails is prone to accumulating dirt and grime. In the case of damage caused by trimming the nails, bacteria can easily invade and infect through the wound. The current watery phenomenon indicates inflammatory secretions after the infection, and it can be considered that a periungual abscess has formed. Accompanied by pain and a swollen appearance on the dorsum of the foot, this suggests that the infection has spread. It is recommended that this requires timely surgical debridement and the use of anti-inflammatory drugs to prevent the spread of infection.

2. Suppuration is caused by inflammation. There are many reasons for inflammation. It may be that the toes are damaged due to friction, or foreign objects invade the feet and cause inflammation and suppuration. It may also be unknown swelling and pain, for some inexplicable reasons.

3. The solutions are: one is to drain the pus, the other is to disinfect, apply medicine and bandage. Use a sharp blade that has been sterilized (it can be flame sterilized or alcohol sterilized), and aim at the area with the most and thickest pus to cut and drain the pus. Don’t be afraid of pain, a short pain is worse than a long one. The incision should not be too big, just enough to squeeze out the pus. Squeeze out the pus until red blood comes out. At this time, the pus has been cleared. Disinfect the wound with iodine or alcohol. Then apply erythromycin ointment on the wound, cover it with cotton wool, and bandage it with medical tape or a Band-Aid. Generally speaking, once the pus is cleared, the pain will subside. You should be able to recover in two or three days after taking the medicine.
