Traditional Chinese medicine formula for treating facial paralysis

Facial paralysis is a disease caused by peripheral neuritis. There are many treatments for it. For recurrent and severe facial paralysis, Chinese medicine can be used for treatment, which can achieve good therapeutic effects. For example, facial paralysis can be treated with croton plaster, and then combined with Chinese medicine acupuncture, which can achieve good therapeutic effects. We should also pay more attention to rationality in daily life, maintain a happy mood, and reduce external stimulation.

Traditional Chinese medicine formula for treating facial paralysis

(1) Make an ointment out of croton, frankincense, myrrh, castor bean, borneol and musk, and apply it to the temple on the affected side once every three days, usually 1 to 5 times. The efficacy is 95%. (2) Take 1 grain of croton (remove the oil), 1 cane blister (remove the head and feet), 0.2g of musk, 0.5g each of Chuanwu, Cao Niao, and Baifuzi, and 7 grains of white mustard seeds. Grind them into a fine powder, sprinkle it on medical adhesive tape, and apply it to the Taiyang, Yingxiang, Jiache, and Dicang acupoints on the affected side. It will fall off on its own in 5 to 7 days, and it will be cured in 1 to 2 times. (3) Take 3 pieces of croton (peeled), 3 pieces of canthus flammeus (without head and feet), and fresh ginger (peeled), and mash them into a paste. Mix evenly and apply it on the analgesic plaster or musk tiger bone plaster. Apply it on the Qianzheng acupoint on the affected side for 3 to 5 hours. For patients with a course of illness of less than 1 month, apply it 1 to 2 times, for patients with a course of illness of 2 to 3 months, apply it 2 to 3 times, and for patients with a course of illness of 4 to 6 months, apply it 3 to 5 times. The therapeutic effect is poor for patients with a disease course of more than 6 months. Local blistering should prevent infection.

The following are some safe dietary considerations during the onset of facial paralysis: 1. Keep a happy and relaxed mood, maintain a proper balance between work and rest, and get enough sleep. 2. Reduce external stimuli, such as television, computer, ultraviolet rays, etc. 3. Patients with facial paralysis should be careful not to wash their faces with cold water. When it is windy, rainy or cold, they should keep their head and face warm. 4. Eat more fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans and fish. 5. Calcium is not only beneficial to bones and intelligence, but also can promote normal muscle and nerve function. Since patients with facial nerve diseases mainly suffer from facial nerve conduction disorders and lead to muscle atrophy, calcium supplementation is very important. Spare ribs, dark green vegetables, egg yolks, kelp, sesame, fruits, carrots, watermelon, dairy products, etc. are rich in calcium. Among them, this is the most important point in the dietary considerations for patients with facial paralysis during the onset period.

6. There is another very important dietary precaution during the onset of facial paralysis, which is to guide patients to place food behind the healthy tongue, chew slowly, and eat small meals frequently to meet the needs of the body. According to the patient's constitution, the diet should be reasonably allocated, and semi-liquid or normal food should be given according to the condition. The diet should be light and easily digestible, and spicy, sour, dry, hard, and rough foods should be avoided. Take good oral care before and after eating, such as gargling and cleaning your mouth, to prevent oral ulcers.

In addition to the above methods for treating facial paralysis, good care is also an essential step. Because the eyelids do not close completely or cannot close, the blinking action and corneal reflex disappear, and the cornea is exposed for a long time, it is easy to cause intraocular infection and damage the cornea. Therefore, eye protection is very important. Reduce the use of eyes, wear sunglasses or an eye mask when going out, and at the same time, put some lubricating, anti-inflammatory, and nutritional eye drops. Wear an eye mask or gauze for protection when sleeping. Apply antibiotic eye ointment to the eyes to protect the cornea and prevent conjunctivitis.
