What are the signs of epilepsy?

Have you ever heard of epilepsy attacks? In fact, many people are still quite afraid of this disease, but we all know that any disease will have some precursor symptoms before the attack, so if we can discover these symptoms in time and take timely measures, we can reduce the impact. Before an epilepsy attack, patients are prone to show headaches and weakness, or sweating, mental disorders and so on.

1. Early symptoms of epilepsy: In the early stages of epilepsy, children sweat excessively on their heads during feeding and sleeping. Excessive sweating causes local irritation, and they like to shake their heads. When you shake your head, the back of your head is rubbed, which causes hair loss over time. In addition, the child is restless and easily awakened during sleep.

2. Grand mal seizures: Common forms of grand mal seizures, absence seizures and psychosis. The number of patients affected by major seizures is the highest. During an attack, there is sudden loss of consciousness, breathing stops, foaming at the mouth, and twitching of the limbs. It may be accompanied by tongue biting and urinary incontinence (uncontrolled urination). It lasts for 1 to 5 days, and the patient falls asleep after the twitching stops. Headache and weakness after waking up, and no memory of the seizure are symptoms of epilepsy.

3. Petit mal seizure: Absence seizure is characterized by a brief disturbance of consciousness that occurs suddenly and stops suddenly, without twitching. What are the symptoms of pre-epileptic seizures? During an attack, the patient will be motionless, his face will be slightly pale, his speech will cease, his hands will not be able to hold objects, and sometimes he will be unable to stand steadily. Onset usually occurs after 2 to 10 minutes.

4. Localized epileptic seizures: short convulsions or numbness and tingling in one corner of the mouth, eyelid, finger, toe, or one side of the face and extremities. The twitching may sometimes spread from the fingers to the upper limbs and then to the opposite side. Epileptic psychomotor seizures. Symptoms of epilepsy are similar to those of an absence seizure, but last longer than a minute. Or discover various hallucinations, illusions, and unconscious movements, such as sucking, chewing, smacking lips, undressing, and unbuttoning.
