The difference between liver palm and normal palm

The appearance of liver palms is mostly closely related to diseases. To determine whether you have palmar erythema, you just need to observe whether there is any abnormality in the skin on the palm and back of your palm. Patients with palmar erythema often have red spots or congestion on the palms of their hands. But normal people's palms do not have it. In addition, some abnormalities may also appear in the palm lines. Let us now introduce in detail the differences between liver palms and normal palms.

The skin color of the palm and back of a normal person's palm is uniformly light red. When you suffer from chronic hepatitis, this normal color disappears. The skin at the thenar and hypothenar eminences at the base of the thumb and little finger may become flaky and red, or appear as spots or plaques, which may turn pale when pressure is applied. This type of palm that is different from normal people is called liver palm. Most patients with cirrhosis are prone to liver palms.

However, the presence of palms aligning with the liver does not necessarily mean liver disease. Clinically, some healthy people have been found to have palms aligning with the liver. If liver palms appear, it cannot be blindly diagnosed as liver disease. It is also necessary to combine the patient's drinking history, metabolic disease history, physical examination, liver function test, B-ultrasound, liver scan and other tests.

The difference between liver palm and normal palm

First

Experiments show that when suffering from chronic hepatitis, especially cirrhosis, the skin at the base of the thumb and little finger on the thenar eminence will develop patchy congestion, or red spots and plaques, which turn pale after pressure. This type of palm that is different from normal people is called liver palm. Most patients with cirrhosis are prone to liver palms.

second

The main external manifestations of liver palms are: pink spots and plaques on the palms of both hands, the thenar and hypothenar eminences and fingertips, the color of cinnabar, which turn pale when pressure is applied and turn red again after the pressure is released. The color of the palms is normal. If you observe carefully, you can see a large number of expanded and connected punctate and sheet-like arterioles.

third

The common locations of palmar erythema are the thenar eminence, hypothenar eminence, palmar surface and base of fingers. The color is pink or rouge-like spots. Careful observation can reveal many dilated small arteries connected into pieces. The liver governs the tendons. Liver disease can also manifest on the nails. Liver disease is generally manifested as raised ridges or downward depressions on the surface of the nails.

Precautions

As can be seen from the above, if the above symptoms appear on your palms, you can go to a regular hospital for testing and diagnosis. However, many normal people may also have the above symptoms on their palms, so diagnosis must be made before treatment.

How do liver palms form?

There are many reasons for the formation of liver palms, but the main reason may be liver disease. Therefore, if liver palms occur, we must pay attention to actively go to the hospital for treatment so that we can better treat the disease. We must not be careless.

In fact, the cause of liver palms is the same as that of spider nevi. It is mainly when the liver is in cirrhosis, due to the decline of liver function, the metabolic inactivation function of estrogen is impaired to varying degrees. Estrogen accumulates in the body, stimulating capillary congestion and dilation, and over time, liver palms are formed. The imbalance of estrogen inactivation can also cause hepatitis patients to experience capillary dilation, menstrual disorders, testicular atrophy or male breast development. If the disease lasts for a long time, it can cause an increase in melanin in skin cells, thus causing hepatic dark complexion.
