What is flat warts? HPV infection

The incidence of flat warts is particularly high among young people. The cause of this disease is HPV infection. The face and hands are the most common sites. There are generally no obvious symptoms. Patients should have a good attitude and can choose diet therapy, which is very effective.

1. HPV infection is the cause

Caused by HPV 3, 5, 8, 9, 10, 28, 41, and 65, HPV is transmitted through direct or indirect contact to the host's skin and mucosal epithelial cells, enters the cells through contact with tiny erosions, stays in the nuclei of epithelial cells at the infected site, replicates and transcribes, but does not enter the blood circulation and does not produce viremia.

2. Symptoms and Signs

It is common in children and adolescents, but also in adults. It often occurs symmetrically on the face (cheeks, temples, forehead, chin), back of the hands and forearms. It manifests as round, oval or irregular flat papules of normal skin color or light brown, the size of a pinhead to a lentil, with a smooth surface, hard texture, scattered or dense, or fused into small pieces, and may be arranged in a beaded-like manner due to scratches (isomorphic reaction) (Figures 1-3). There are no subjective symptoms, and itching often occurs before subsiding. The disease progresses slowly and may last for 3 to 4 years without recovery. It is self-limiting and can recover on its own in 1 to 2 years.

3. Diet and health care

Diet therapy:

Take 7 green-shell duck eggs. After soaking in rice vinegar for 5-7 days, cook and eat one (raw is better) every day. After 4-5 days, the skin of the flat warts will become flushed. Continue to eat it until it is healed.

Use equal amounts of mung beans and coix seeds. First boil the mung beans in water, cook for a while after boiling, then pour in the coix seeds and cook into porridge. Consume every night before bed. Flat warts can be gradually cured.

Take 50 grams of coix seed. Cook porridge and add 15 grams of sugar. 1-2 times a day. Can be eaten for a long time.

Take 10 grams each of mulberry leaves, chrysanthemums, forsythia, mint, cassia twigs, almonds, burdock seeds, raw rehmannia, Scrophularia, cicada shells, and honeysuckle, and 5 grams of raw grass. Take one dose per day, decocted in water, and taken orally in two doses. One course of treatment is 2 weeks to 1 month. For patients with long-term illness, choose 30 grams of raw oysters, 15 grams each of Salvia miltiorrhiza, Millettia reticulata, and Scrophularia ningpoensis, and 10 grams each of Angelica sinensis, Safflower, Lithospermum officinale, Red Peony Root, Sichuan Peony Root, Tribulus terrestris, Trillium, and Curcuma. Take one dose daily, decocted in water, and taken orally in two doses. Long-term use can shrink the flat warts and then completely cure them.

Take 200 grams of fried burdock seeds, grind them into fine powder, peel them, and bottle them for later use. Take orally three times a day, 3-5 grams each time, washed down with warm water. Generally, the disease will be cured after the medicine is finished. Use burdock seed alone to dispel wind-heat, detoxify and resolve stagnation, relieve sore throat and reduce swelling.

Use 30 grams of coix seed. Cook porridge every day.

Food taboos for flat warts

Most flat warts and common warts have rashes, which are caused by "hair rashes". Some foods are "hair-raising foods" - they contain foreign proteins. When this special protein is absorbed by the human body, it can cause allergic reactions and damage the skin. Therefore, during the period of flat warts or for a period of time after the disease is cured, you should limit or avoid eating fish, shrimp, crab and other seafood "irritating foods", as well as onions, garlic, peppers, tobacco, alcohol and other irritating foods.
