1. Frequent turning over leads to stiff neck

When sleeping at night, some people toss and turn more frequently due to emotions, climate and other reasons. However, frequent tossing and uncomfortable pillows can easily lead to stiff neck.

Solution: The pillow for sleeping should not be too high or too low. The height is generally the length of the shoulder width, and the softness and hardness should be comfortable.

2. Wrong posture causes pain

During lunch break, many office workers are accustomed to taking a nap on their desks, but they often feel sore, swollen, or even painful neck muscles when they wake up.

This is because the neck is excessively tilted for a long time, and the cervical spine, muscles, and ligaments are always in a state of tension.

Solution: Take a lunch break or sleep in the car

First, sleeping on your stomach is not recommended. You can lie on your back and take a short rest.

Second, you must find a support point for your cervical spine, such as placing a rolled-up piece of clothing behind your neck or wearing a U-shaped neck pillow.

After resting, you can stand up and do some chest expansion and backward leaning exercises, which is beneficial to the recovery of blood circulation function of the cervical vertebral artery.

3. Staying up late increases fatigue of the cervical spine

Many young people like to arrange a lot of entertainment activities at night, which leads to a significant reduction in sleep time.

The cervical spine is tired during the day and does not get enough time to recover at night, which will cause cervical pain over time.

Solution: Make sure to get enough sleep and give your cervical spine sufficient rest.

4. Staying at home with a stiff neck

There are more and more otakus and stay-at-home girls, and many people prefer to stay at home all day watching TV and playing computer games in their spare time, which further increases.

Maintaining a certain sitting posture for a long time coupled with bad habits like lowering your head or crossing your legs will cause uneven stress on your muscles and affect the health of your spine.

In particular, long-term posture of lowering the head or facing the computer will cause the cervical spine to tilt excessively and the neck to become stiff, thereby causing or aggravating cervical spondylosis.

Solution: Even when sitting, don't always maintain the same sitting posture. Change it frequently and try to stand up and move around every hour. When sitting, you can also lean back slightly, which can protect the entire spine.

5. Frequent use of air conditioning will make your neck cold

Staying in an air-conditioned room for a long time can easily cause muscle spasms and pain. Neck muscle spasms not only cause muscle and ligament strain, but also change the physiological mobility of the cervical spine, inducing or aggravating cervical spondylosis.

Solution: Try not to expose your neck and shoulders to air conditioning or fans. If you need to work in an air-conditioned room for a long time, it is best to wear a coat or a scarf to prevent your neck from getting cold.
