How to speed up labor after the due date

How to speed up labor after the due date

If the due date is exceeded, you should be alert. As a pregnant mother, you can use certain methods to speed up the delivery. Exercise is a better method. Some pregnant women do not exercise enough in their daily lives, which may lead to the situation of exceeding the due date. In this case, you can increase the amount of exercise appropriately. For example, climbing stairs is a better method to induce labor.

How to speed up labor after the due date

1. Exercise-induced birth

If the due date has arrived but the baby is still not moving, the expectant mother should exercise more. Upright exercise can allow the fetus to enter the pelvis and exercise the pelvic floor muscles to increase labor force. However, if you want to go out for exercise at this time, it is best to be accompanied by a family member, otherwise an emergency may easily occur.

2. Walking method

Walking is a suitable exercise during late pregnancy. When walking, the body can breathe in fresh air, which can help the baby descend into the pelvis in the late pregnancy, relax the ligaments of the pelvis, and prepare for delivery.

When you take a walk, you can talk to your baby in your belly while walking and listen to the singing of birds and the chirping of crickets.

You can take a walk twice a day, each time for about half an hour, or you can take a walk three times a day for 20 minutes each time, in the morning, noon and evening.

It is best to choose a quiet place for a walk, with no pollution around, but don't walk next to the road because it is unsafe. Also, there is a large amount of lead in car exhaust, which will have adverse effects on the body after being absorbed by the respiratory tract.

3. Gymnastics

Gymnastics is a very popular prenatal exercise abroad. Gymnastics can help the fetus' head enter the pelvis and increase the toughness and elasticity of the pelvic floor muscles.

4. Climb stairs

Doctors often tell expectant mothers whose due date has arrived but whose babies are still not moving to climb the stairs quickly. Why is this? Because climbing stairs can exercise the leg and buttocks muscles, allowing the fetus to enter the pelvis earlier and welcome the arrival of the first stage of labor.

When going out normally, you can choose to climb the stairs of the apartment building. If you have the opportunity, you can take a walk in the mountains and forests, especially from 2 to 4 pm, when the trees release oxygen, which is a good time to replenish oxygen. However, it is best to be accompanied by family members, and do not overwork yourself. When going down the stairs, be careful of your step and pay attention to safety.
