What to do if your eyelids are too loose

What to do if your eyelids are too loose

There are many reasons for loose eyelids, the main one is related to excessive eyelid fat and age. The older you are, the looser the skin tissue is, which makes you feel listless. Of course, if there is a certain amount of edema on the skin, it may also cause this phenomenon. For example, poor kidney function, poor rest, and staying up late may all cause this phenomenon. When the eyelids are too loose, you should strengthen your lifestyle adjustments, or you can treat it through surgery.

What to do if your eyelids are too loose

Regardless of the cause of sagging upper eyelids, surgical correction is required. The surgery can be performed while removing eyelid wrinkles and performing blepharoplasty. Patients with bulging of tear glands and orbital fat should also undergo surgery at the same time. Upper eyelid surgery should not be performed simultaneously with lower eyelid surgery to avoid affecting the blood supply to the skin at the same time. After forehead and temporal wrinkle removal surgery, a period of recovery is required before surgery can be performed depending on the condition of the upper and lower eyelids. To prevent the scar from being too obvious after surgery and affecting the cosmetic appearance, the incision for removing loose eyelid skin wrinkles should be as parallel to the skin texture as possible.

1. Simple blepharoplasty is a double eyelid surgery that removes excess loose skin while performing double eyelid surgery. This method was often used in the past, resulting in long swelling time and slow recovery, and the double eyelids would only become natural after half a year. At present, it is rarely used by middle-aged and elderly people. 2. Eyelid margin incision is not acceptable. Double eyelid surgery is mainly for the elderly who do not want obvious changes and do not require the formation of double eyelids. The excess skin can be simply removed through the upper eyelid margin incision. 3. Eyebrow lift or eyebrow surgery can improve symptoms by lifting the loose upper eyelid skin. According to the distance between the patient's eyebrows and eyes, choose the incision at the middle of the eyebrow, the upper edge of the eyebrow, or the lower edge of the eyebrow. If combined with forehead and temporal rhytidectomy, the symptoms of aging can be better improved.

4. Insist on using eye cream. Many people only apply eye cream to the corners of the eyes. In fact, the lower eyelid is the part of the eye that is most likely to become loose, followed by the upper eyelid. Aging of the lower eyelids can easily lead to eye bags, while loose upper eyelids can cause sagging eyelids. The correct way to apply eye cream is to use the tip of your ring finger to apply a suitable amount of eye cream, starting from the lower eyelid, from the end of the eye inward, and gently press like touching a piano key; for the upper eyelid, start from the corner of the eye and gently slide the fingertips across, repeat several times to evenly spread the eye cream.
