What should I do if I can't vomit and only have saliva?

Vomiting is a method to stimulate the human stomach to cause vomiting. If vomiting does not produce saliva but only vomits, it is because the stimulation of vomiting is not enough, or there is nothing in the stomach. Vomiting when there is nothing in the stomach will only lead to the secretion of gastric acid and cause excessive saliva. You can drink some water or soup before inducing vomiting, and try to induce vomiting when there is something in the stomach.

What should I do if I can't vomit and only have saliva?

If the vomiting is not induced with enough force, it will easily result in only spitting out saliva, which is a step missing.

Quick way to induce vomiting:

1. First, make a large cup of warm, lightly salted water (remember it should be light, just enough that you can feel the saltiness, and use warm water). Both lightness and mildness are essential, so remember this.

2. Then drink the warm salt water in big gulps until you feel a little full, but don't drink too much.

3. About two minutes after drinking the salt water, start to induce vomiting. Use your fingers to touch the deep root of the tongue. Pay attention to hygiene and wash your hands.

Other methods of inducing vomiting

How to operate

1. Use a hard feather, tongue depressor, spoon handle, chopsticks, fingers, etc. to stir the pharyngeal arch and posterior pharyngeal wall to induce vomiting. This method is simple, easy and effective, and can also be used at home. If the food is too thick to be vomited out completely, ask the patient to drink an appropriate amount of warm water or salt water first. Then induce vomiting, and repeat this process until the vomited liquid becomes clear. [1]

2. Dissolve 100 grams of salt in 200 ml of warm water and take orally. Oral administration of 100-300 ml of 1:2000 potassium permanganate can irritate the gastric mucosa and cause vomiting.

3. Dissolve 0.3-0.5 g of copper sulfate or zinc sulfate in 150-250 ml of warm water and take orally. If no vomiting occurs within 15-30 minutes, you can take it again. Add 0.5 ml of iodine tincture to 500 ml of water and take orally.

4. Apomorphine is used for poisoned patients who cannot take emetic drugs orally. Subcutaneous injection of 3-5 mg in adults can cause vomiting.

Precautions for inducing vomiting

1. If vomiting does not occur after taking emetics orally, you can use a hard feather, tongue depressor or fingers to stimulate the throat to induce vomiting.

2. When vomiting occurs, the patient's head should be lowered, and critically ill patients can turn their heads to one side to prevent vomitus from being inhaled into the trachea, causing suffocation or pneumonia.

3. It is not advisable to induce vomiting in poisoned persons who have taken corrosive poisons or whose shock has not been controlled. People with serious heart disease, aneurysm, esophageal varicose veins, ulcer disease, etc. should not induce vomiting.

4. If you take a large amount of sleeping pills or other highly toxic drugs, induce vomiting as soon as possible. The method is to use chopsticks or a spoon to press the root of the patient's tongue to induce vomiting. After vomiting, give the patient a large glass of warm water to induce vomiting again until all the stomach contents are vomited out.

5. If you accidentally ingest iodine, you should immediately drink rice soup or egg white, then induce vomiting, and repeat this process until the vomitus is no longer iodine-colored.

6. If you accidentally take athlete's foot medicine or dermatitis medicine, immediately drink warm tea and induce vomiting afterwards.

7. If you accidentally take strong acids such as sulfuric acid, wash with soapy water.

8. Or drink soda water to neutralize the strong acid, and then induce vomiting repeatedly.

9. If someone accidentally ingests a strong alkaline solution, give the patient some vinegar to drink, then mix the vinegar with

Gastric lavage with water.
