What does erythromycin eye ointment do?

Erythromycin eye ointment is a very good medicine. If people suffer from acne or vestibulitis, they can use erythromycin eye ointment to treat it. The usage of this medicine is also very simple. As long as the patient applies erythromycin eye ointment to the affected area, it can be applied once or twice a day. However, everyone must pay attention. If you are allergic to erythromycin, you must not use erythromycin eye ointment.

You can use erythromycin eye ointment, but you must also pay attention. When using erythromycin eye ointment, you must be careful not to let the medicine come into contact with your eyes, nostrils or mouth. If you accidentally apply erythromycin eye ointment to your eyes or mouth, you must rinse them immediately with clean water.

Erythromycin is a macrolide antibiotic whose mechanism of action is to inhibit bacterial protein synthesis. It has antibacterial effects on Gram-positive bacteria and Chlamydia trachomatis.

Now let’s take an example to explain the principle of erythromycin eye ointment in treating vestibulitis. Vestibulitis is characterized by dryness in the nasal cavity, crusting of the vestibule mucosa, odor, blockage, itching, or irritation and pain. In the morning, you often blow out purulent nasal discharge and pick out pus- or bloody scabs. Symptoms are particularly noticeable during windy and dry spring months. Applying erythromycin eye ointment for this disease has a very good effect. The application method is introduced as follows:

First, blow your nose and remove the crusts in the vestibule of the nose. Take a bamboo stick about 10 cm long and less than 0.2 cm square, and use cotton wool to twist it clockwise into a thin cotton swab that is 4 cm long and about 0.4 cm in diameter. Apply erythromycin eye ointment on the cotton swab, and then insert it into the nasal cavity. Twist the stick clockwise to apply the medicine in the nasal cavity, applying it to "all aspects", including the blind fossa on the lower side of the nose bridge. After applying one side, make a new medicine stick and apply it to the other side of the nasal cavity. Apply once in the morning and before bed. The medicine stick is slender and soft, and can be inserted deep into the nasal cavity. When applying the medicine, there is no irritation like a hard stick, and the medicine is applied evenly. Generally, the disease will heal after 1 to 2 days of continuous application.

Erythromycin eye ointment is very effective in treating acne or vestibulitis, so people with these diseases can try applying this medicine. However, not everyone is suitable for using erythromycin eye ointment. Therefore, before using erythromycin eye ointment, you must check whether you are suitable for treatment with this medicine to avoid accidents.
