Insulin is an important method to control blood sugar and is currently the most important method for treating diabetes. When injecting insulin, you must avoid some irregularities and misunderstandings. If the injection technique is wrong, it often leads to symptoms of insulin blistering, which is not good for health. When injecting insulin, you must pay attention to the selection of sites, pay attention to the rotation of sites, and learn the correct injection methods and steps. What should I do if a blister forms after injecting insulin? 1. Selection of insulin injection site The parts of the human body suitable for subcutaneous injection of insulin include the abdomen, thighs, upper arms, buttocks, etc. Among them, abdominal injection has the fastest absorption, while buttocks injection has the slowest absorption. The outer side of the upper arm and the anterior and lateral side of the thigh can also be injected. 2. Injection site rotation method The disadvantages of multiple injections at the same injection point include the formation of subcutaneous nodules and fat atrophy, which affects the absorption of insulin and is not conducive to blood sugar control. Therefore, diabetics must pay attention to rotating the injection sites! The distance between each injection point is 2.5cm! Repeated injections at the same location should be spaced at least one month apart. 3. Correct injection method Pinch the skin to inject: Use a short and thin needle to ensure correct subcutaneous injection as much as possible. The injection should be made subcutaneously to avoid entering the muscle layer, otherwise the insulin absorption curve will not match the blood sugar absorption peak and blood sugar will fluctuate greatly. 4. Insulin injection steps Wash your hands before injecting. Check the type and dosage of insulin to be injected. Install the insulin cartridge. Premixed insulin needs to be mixed thoroughly before injection. Install the insulin pen needle. Check the injection site and disinfect it. Standardized inspection of injection sites includes: selecting the appropriate injection site according to the type of insulin used; and rotating the injection site regularly. Based on the length of the insulin injection needle, determine whether to pinch the skin and the angle of needle insertion. After completion, the needle should remain in place for at least 10 seconds before being pulled out to prevent insulin from being carried out of the body by the needle. Immediately screw on the outer needle cap, remove the needle from the Pen, and discard in a capped hard shell container. 5. Needles should not be reusedReusing needles is extremely unsafe. It will increase the pain of injection for diabetics, increase the chance of needle breakage, increase the chance of other infections, cause fat hypertrophy, changes in insulin flow, and changes in insulin concentration. |
