Can I eat mung beans if I have urticaria?

Urticaria, also known as wheals, is a common skin disease. After suffering from urticaria, you must pay attention to your diet to avoid worsening of the symptoms due to diet. You can eat mung beans after suffering from urticaria, because mung beans themselves have a good effect of clearing heat and detoxifying, but be careful not to eat other beans, such as soybeans and soy products, when you have urticaria, because the protein content in these soy products is too high.

Symptoms of urticaria

Urticaria is a common allergic skin disease. When exposed to allergens, red patches of varying shapes and sizes will appear on unspecified parts of the body. These patches will itch. If the contact with the allergens is not stopped and treated, the rash and itching will worsen.

1. Wind heat type

It is more common in acute measles. The onset is acute, with red wheals, burning sensation and severe itching, accompanied by fever, chills, sore throat, irritability and thirst, chest tightness and abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, floating and rapid pulse, and red tongue with a thin white or thin yellow coating. The syndrome is wind-heat attacking the exterior and failure of lung defense. Treat with pungent and cool herbs to relieve exterior symptoms, dispel wind and clear heat.

2. Wind-cold type

It is more common in cold urticaria. The rash is light red, pink and white in color, and worsens when exposed to cold. There are few symptoms, or there may be headache or body pain without sweating, and no thirst. The tongue is fat, pale in texture, with white coating, and the pulse is floating and tight. The syndrome is characterized by wind-cold binding the exterior and failure of lung defense. Treatment should be pungent and warm to relieve exterior symptoms, promote lung function and dispel cold, soothe wind and relieve itching.

3. Yin blood deficiency, blood deficiency affected by wind

The rash recurs and lasts for a long time, worsening in the afternoon or at night, with irritability, dry mouth and no desire to drink, hot hands and feet, red tongue with little coating or pale tongue, and a deep and fine pulse. The syndrome is deficiency of blood and wind evil binding the surface. The treatment should be to nourish yin and blood, and dispel wind evil.

4. Heart and spleen deficiency type

The patient has a weak constitution, pale complexion, pale lips, insomnia, frequent dreams, forgetfulness, palpitations, night sweats, and often gets sick at night. He develops a rash after sweating, and the rash is light in color and itchy. It is more common in mental urticaria or artificial urticaria. The syndrome is characterized by deficiency of both heart and spleen, and weak Wei Qi. The treatment is aimed at nourishing blood and calming the mind, invigorating Qi and strengthening the exterior. It often cures chronic diseases that have lasted for many years.

To summarize the experience in treating intractable urticaria. I think the efficacy is better for patients with wind-heat type who develop rapidly, whose external evil has not penetrated deeply and whose vital energy is not weak; the efficacy is slightly worse for wind-cold type and blood deficiency type; adding blood-nourishing and blood-activating drugs in the treatment of urticaria can improve the efficacy, but it is not recommended to use more external dispersing insect drugs such as centipede and snake shell to avoid aggravating the condition; to reduce recurrence, the medication should be continued for a period of time after clinical cure; during the treatment and recovery period, attention should be paid to dietary taboos, and fish, shrimp, peppers, tobacco, alcohol and other fishy, wind-inducing, spicy and irritating foods should not be taken to avoid inducing factors to avoid recurrence of the disease
