Rosa rugosa, also known as sea buckthorn, is quite common in our daily life. The fruit of Rosa rugosa is very rich in nutrients and has certain medicinal value. In clinical practice, the roots and fruits of Rosa rugosa are usually used as medicine, and the effects and functions of Rosa rugosa are also very valuable. 1. Lipid-lowering effect In experimental atherosclerosis rabbits fed with cholesterol and methylthiouracil, treatment with Rosa Laevigata (unknown species) for two and three weeks reduced serum cholesterol by 12.5% and 18.67% respectively, and β-lipoprotein also decreased significantly. Fat deposition in the liver and heart was milder than that in the control group, and the degree of atherosclerosis was also very mild, while the control group was very severe. 2. Anti-pathogenic microorganisms Chicken embryo experiments have shown that the decoction of Rosa laevigata has the strongest inhibitory effect on the PR8 strain of influenza virus, and also has effects on the Asian A 57-4 strain, B Lee strain, C 1233 strain, and D Sendai strain. The antibacterial test (plate method) showed that 25% root decoction had a strong antibacterial effect on Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, and was also effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. 3. Impact on the urinary system: Oral administration of 6g/kg of Rosa laevigata water extract can reduce the number of urinations, prolong the urination interval, and increase the amount of urination each time in rats with hypogastric nerve-induced frequent urination model. 4. Effects on smooth muscle: The water extract of Rosa laevigata can inhibit the autonomous contraction of isolated rabbit jejunal smooth muscle, antagonize the spasmodic contraction of rabbit jejunal smooth muscle and rat isolated bladder smooth muscle induced by acetylcholine and barium chloride, and antagonize the contractile response of isolated rabbit thoracic aorta strips induced by norepinephrine. The inhibitory effects on the above three types of smooth muscles show a significant dose-response relationship. |
