Does double eyelid surgery look good?

It is true that single eyelids look better when double eyelids are cut. As an Asian, single eyelids are more common. If you are not particularly satisfied with your eyes, you can also consider double eyelid surgery. Of course, before doing double eyelid surgery, you must fully consider your face shape, eyes, etc. In addition, you must go to a regular plastic surgery hospital for this kind of surgery. There are many methods of surgery, the more common ones are the buried suture method, the incision double eyelid method, etc.

Embedding method

It is also called polymer molding method. It is a method of burying sutures (or polymer sutures) directly between the skin and the tarsal plate through suturing, so that the upper eyelid skin adheres to the tarsal plate to form double eyelids. This method is easy to operate, less traumatic, leaves no scars, reduces swelling quickly, and does not require stitches to be removed. It is more suitable for young people with thin eyelids, long palpebral fissures, and no sagging skin. It is not suitable for those with thick eyelids, sagging skin, and older people, and there is a possibility of double eyelids disappearing. The buried suture method is suitable for people with thin upper eyelids without obvious fat, loose upper eyelid skin, and younger age. The advantages are simple operation, less trauma and quick recovery. But its disadvantage is that it has a small scope of application, is only effective for those with thick upper eyelids, and double eyelids can easily disappear.

Double eyelid incision

This is a permanent double eyelid surgery, which removes loose skin, orbicularis oculi muscle and hypertrophic fat through incision, and directly sutures the skin to the orbicularis oculi muscle or levator palpebrae superioris aponeurosis under direct vision to form a double eyelid. This method requires skin incision, which is slightly traumatic, but the upper eyelid structure can be adjusted through the incision. The effect is reliable and long-lasting, and it is suitable for single eyelids in various situations. The swelling will take a little longer to subside and the wound will leave a linear scar. The incision method is suitable for all situations. It can remove loose upper eyelid skin, remove excess orbital fat, deepen the orbital fossa, and the surgical effect is long-lasting. The disadvantages are that the operation is more complicated and traumatic, and it takes a certain amount of time for the edema to subside after the operation.

No-swelling incision

When making a double eyelid incision, the blood vessels in the eyelid area are not cut or damaged but are preserved intact. A small piece of skin is excised, excess fat is trimmed, and the eyelid suture is sutured to the eyelid plate or the eyelid lifting fascia. The eyelid is cut open and the superior eyelid lifting fascia is fixed to the dermis and subcutaneous tissue where double eyelids are needed with sutures, and then the skin is sutured. This will result in virtually no swelling in the eye after surgery and a faster recovery time.

Pressing method

Similar to the suture method, the mucosa and skin are sutured through and through to form double eyelids. Because the upper eyelid is sutured continuously throughout the entire thickness, blood vessel return is blocked, resulting in obvious swelling of the upper eyelid, which takes a long time to subside and the sutures need to be removed. Double eyelids may also disappear. Supplement: The material for double eyelid compression should be compatible with the human body and non-absorbable. In terms of operation method, the number of adhesion points is significantly increased, thereby ensuring the beauty and firmness of the double eyelid after the operation. The biggest advantage of double eyelid surgery is that it is simple, less traumatic and has a quick recovery. Generally, the swelling will subside within 10-15 days after the operation. The double eyelids will look natural and will have no impact on work.
