Causes and symptoms of red spots on baby's face

Babies have relatively poor immunity and their skin is particularly delicate. They are easily affected by adverse external factors, which can lead to some skin inflammation. When there are red spots on the baby's face, it is often caused by eczema. Eczema generally does not cause fever, which is also a basis for judgment. Of course, it may also be a symptom of an emergency for the child, in which case the baby will have a persistent fever.

Causes and symptoms of red spots on baby's face

1. Symptoms of eczema

1. Eczema generally does not cause fever.

2. Eczema is distributed in local patches. At the beginning, the skin becomes red and has needle-sized red papules on it. The rash area will appear red, swollen, and spotted, and may also desquamate or have small blisters. Some areas may become thickened and scabby due to frequent scratching. If you scratch your skin, infection may also occur.

3. Eczema mostly appears on the face, chest, buttocks and the outside of the elbows; in children, it is mainly distributed on the neck, inner elbows, knee joints and popliteal fossa.

4. Eczema is characterized by chronicity and recurring attacks, and the affected areas will be very itchy. It will get even redder if you exert too much force, and it won't go away for a long time and will only get redder.

2. Emergency symptoms in children

1. Children's emergency usually occurs after the fever or jaundice subsides 3-5 days after the fever.

2. The biggest feature is “fever subsides and rash appears”. The body temperature is between 39 and 40 degrees Celsius. After the fever subsides, a rash quickly appears all over the body and disappears quickly without desquamation or pigmentation.

3. Children should go to the emergency room quickly. They will first have a fever for two to three days, and then small red spots will appear all over the body. Some babies only have fewer spots.

4. During this period, my spirits, appetite, etc. were all good.

5. Emergency symptoms in young children will not recur.

3. Symptoms of prickly heat

1. Prickly heat mostly occurs in summer and will not cause any fever.

2. Prickly heat is a common acute skin inflammation in babies, and blocked sweat pores are the main cause of prickly heat.

3. The appearance of prickly heat is first manifested by the baby's smooth and tender skin becoming very red, and then small red rashes will appear, which are about the size of a needle tip papules or papulovesicles, with small white dots in the center, and they are densely packed into patches. Papules often appear suddenly and increase rapidly.

4. Babies usually get prickly heat on the neck, chest, back, elbows, popliteal fossa, etc. Babies are more special than adults in that they will also get prickly heat on the head, forehead, etc.
