Postpartum refers to the time after a woman gives birth, which can be referred to as confinement. During this period, women will have many precautions and many taboos. Because of body coldness and qi deficiency, women generally need a great deal of nourishment at this time to prevent damage to their vitality, and women are not allowed to move during this time. So how many days after giving birth can they move? Whether it is a cesarean section or a natural birth, any form of strenuous exercise should be avoided within 6 weeks after delivery. If you have a normal delivery and have recovered well, you can start resuming exercise after 6 weeks. After a cesarean section, depending on the recovery situation, you can start resuming exercise 6 to 8 weeks after delivery. Everyone's wounds heal at different speeds, so don't be too impatient. Be sure to go to the hospital for a postpartum check-up on time 42 days after delivery, and decide when to start exercise based on your postpartum recovery. It is best to consult your doctor's advice first. In the first 6 weeks after delivery, you can choose very gentle activities, such as walking. Once you are sure you can start recovery exercise, you should start with gentle, low-intensity exercise. Even if you have been exercising before you became pregnant, your first formal exercise after giving birth should be very gentle. Because pregnancy puts a lot of pressure on the hip and pelvic floor muscles, and because of the reduced amount of exercise during this period, gradual exercise is needed to restore their previous strength. After doing restorative exercise for a period of time and feeling good, you can start aerobic exercise 2-3 months after delivery, but the intensity should not be too high at the beginning. High-intensity exercise too early may cause complications. Compared with caesarean section, the wound of a natural birth recovers faster. If there is no episiotomy, you can usually get out of bed and walk around, go to the toilet to urinate and defecate on the same day. If you have an episiotomy, you need to be gentle when getting out of bed to avoid pulling the wound and causing pain! |
