If the temperature exceeds 38.3℃ or the child has a history of convulsions, use Western medicine to reduce fever in time. However, in the interval between taking western medicine, you should take Chinese herbal antipyretic medicine at least twice. You can divide the dose into two doses, and take some isatis root, etc. Pay attention to indoor ventilation and apply alcohol and water to the forehead.

When the body temperature drops below 38 degrees in the above four time periods, stop taking Western antipyretic drugs, but Chinese medicine can only be stopped after the fever is completely subsided. After the fever subsides, you still need to take Isatis root for one or two days. If there are still symptoms of cough, use grapefruit peel and pear with honey to boil water, and take some medicine to treat cough.

Acetaminophen: Acetaminophen is the most commonly used antipyretic in pediatric clinical practice and is also the first choice antipyretic recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) for infants and children over 2 months old with high fever. Acetaminophen is a very safe antipyretic drug that has a rapid and reliable antipyretic effect and few adverse reactions. It can be kept at home at all times.

Analgin: Analgin has a significant antipyretic effect, but its toxic side effects are very obvious. Long-term use can cause granulocytopenia, purpura, and even aplastic anemia. Some patients are allergic to the drug and may even go into shock or even die. Currently, many countries, including my country, have banned or restricted the use of analgin.
