Do you always feel that your body is particularly heavy in your life? Do you always feel back pain and numbness in your limbs in your life? If so, it is likely a manifestation of moisture invasion. When the disease is more serious, in addition to the above symptoms, patients often feel unbearable headaches, which is especially common in people living in a long-term humid environment. If so, how is body moisture caused? Heavy dampness refers to the fact that dampness is a heavy, turbid evil that belongs to the yin. When dampness causes disease, clinical manifestations often appear characterized by a feeling of heaviness. Such as heaviness in the head and body, soreness in the limbs, etc. Evil dampness invades the skin surface and blocks the clear Yang. If the clear Yang fails to rise, the head will feel heavy as if wrapped. When dampness blocks the joints and Yang Qi cannot be distributed, the skin will become numb and there will be severe pain in the joints. Although damp-heat can be divided into external dampness and internal dampness, they influence each other and form a combination of internal and external evils. Causes: There are two types of dampness: external dampness and internal dampness. External dampness is mostly caused by factors such as humid climate, rain, wading through water, and living in a humid environment. Internal dampness is caused by the spleen failing to function properly, which in turn causes the body fluids to not be distributed and the moisture to condense. Injured by external dampness, the dampness obstructs the spleen. The spleen is not functioning properly, so internal dampness is distributed and the spleen is weak and cannot function properly. The dampness cannot be transformed and is easily invaded by external dampness. Clinical manifestations: 1. Dampness on the skin Symptoms include chills and fever, body aches, headache as if wrapped in a blanket, heaviness and pain in the body, etc. Dampness blocking the Qi mechanism may cause fullness and stuffiness in the chest and abdomen, a loss of appetite, etc. 2. Dampness blocks the meridians Limbs feel heavy and sore, meridians become shortened, and there is stiffness or spasm. If it is a wet spasm, symptoms may include coma, cold limbs, low fever, depression, and confusion. 3. Wet muscles and bones Excessive dampness is called dampness arthralgia, which can be manifested by heavy pain or swelling in the joints of the limbs, pain in a specific location, heaviness in the hands and feet, etc. If the dampness stays and blocks Qi and blood, it will cause numbness of the skin and difficulty in movement. 4. Dampness blocks the clear yang The head feels heavy or wrapped, there is a headache or dizziness, hearing loss, and the clear yang cannot be released. The limbs may feel heavy, sluggish and painful, and there may be drowsiness and inability to lift. |
