How to remove the thorns on the feet

A cornea is a skin problem caused by friction and pressure. If there are corns on the feet, it will not only make people feel pain and discomfort, but also affect the normal walking function and bring a lot of inconvenience to people. If you have a spur on your foot, you can use an external corrosive to remove it, or you can use physical therapy and surgical removal. Here we will introduce the causes, symptoms and treatments of corns on the feet.

1. How are thorns formed?

It is more likely to occur in people who stand or walk for long periods of time, and friction and pressure are the main causes.

Tight shoes or deformed foot bones can cause the stratum corneum in areas of the foot that are subject to friction or pressure to thicken and push inward, forming a cone-shaped keratinous substance with the top facing inward.

2. Symptoms and manifestations of corns

The skin lesions are circular or oval localized keratin hyperplasia;

Pinhead to bean size, light yellow or dark yellow;

The surface is smooth and level with the skin surface or slightly raised, with clear boundaries, an inverted cone in the center, and a keratin plug embedded in the dermis;

The tip of the keratin plug stimulates the nerve endings in the dermal papilla, causing pain when standing or walking;

Corns often occur at the third metatarsal head in the front and middle part of the plantar, on the tibial edge of the metatarsal, and also on the dorsum of the little toe and the second toe, or between the toes, and other protruding and friction-prone areas.

3. How to remove thorns

1. External corrosive agents: external application of corn plaster or corn ointment; 10% salicylic acid glacial acetic acid, 30% salicylic acid collodion and crystal cream can also be used.

Topical corrosive agents must protect the surrounding skin. You can cut a small hole in the center of the zinc oxide tape, the same size as the skin lesion, and stick it on the skin lesion to expose the lesion. Use thin strips of tape to roll into a rope to surround the hole to form a dam. Then apply the medicine and cover it with a large piece of tape. Seal it and change the dressing once every 3 to 7 days until it falls off.

2. Physical therapy: electrocautery, carbon dioxide laser burning, contact X-ray irradiation.

3. Surgical resection.

IV. Precautions

There are many reasons for the growth of corns, especially those caused by seasonal changes. After the fall, the weather cools down and the humidity decreases. The skin must have an adaptation process. At this time, you should focus on hydration and drink plenty of water. Don't wait until you are thirsty to drink.

If the patient's body lacks vitamins, it may also cause corns to grow on the fingers, so it is important to supplement some vitamins in daily life. You can take some vitamin lozenges, or eat some fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins. Do not eat too much oil or too salty food.

Generally, corn burrs not only affect the appearance, but are also prone to infection and inflammation. Therefore, you must not pull them hard with your hands, as this can easily tear the skin and cause great pain. You should use special scissors to cut them off neatly. Pay attention to hand care and apply more hand cream.

If the corn is serious and causes infection, it is recommended to go to the hospital for treatment in time. Your daily diet should be light, and you should eat more fresh fruits and vegetables that are rich in vitamins. Pay attention to hand care at ordinary times.
