What will happen if you have too many abortions?

For women who become pregnant unexpectedly and do not plan to have children, the best solution is to have an abortion. Everyone knows that abortion is very harmful to the body. Each abortion will increase the chance of infertility. For women who have had multiple abortions, each miscarriage will cause damage to the endometrium. Severe cases may lead to habitual miscarriage or infertility. Women must pay attention to postoperative care after an abortion.

The dangers of abortion

1. The cervical canal of a woman who has never given birth appears to be a thin tube. If a normal artificial abortion is to be performed, it must be expanded with metal equipment. The damage caused by this operation is obvious, and the muscles or fibers of the hysteroscope will be broken. When a woman is pregnant for the first time, the cervical canal will become particularly loose due to scarring, and the young embryo will be particularly easy to fall out of the uterine cavity. In severe cases, habitual miscarriage may occur.

2. The cervical canal expanded by metal instruments is particularly susceptible to bacterial infection, and is more likely to cause endometritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, or salpingitis, and sometimes infertility.

3. For women who have undergone ordinary abortions, the deep layer of the endometrium is damaged. Even after healing, it is particularly easy to cause adhesion in the uterine cavity. If the injured area is small, dysmenorrhea and obstruction of menstrual blood discharge will occur; if the injured area is large, the fertilized egg may not be able to implant, leading to infertility.

When is the best time to have an abortion?

Artificial abortion is a remedial measure when contraception fails. It is a vacuum aspiration or curettage performed when the embryo is still relatively small, the placenta has not yet formed, and the uterus has not yet grown. The best time is generally before the ninth week of pregnancy. However, to ultimately determine how long to wait before having an abortion, we still need to refer to the examination results.

If the embryo in a woman's body is found to be too large, or even has grown bones, it will not be possible to suck the embryo out even with the largest straw. The only options are medical or hydrocele induction, followed by uterine curettage.

If induced labor fails, the only option is curettage. It is to use instruments to directly scrape the embryo and placenta out of the woman's uterus. This type of surgery has relatively high risks. If a woman wants to terminate the pregnancy, it is best to choose an abortion within two months.

Precautions after abortion

1. Improve nutrition and get enough rest. Be sure to eat more meat, soy products, eggs and fish. These foods can effectively promote the repair of the uterine endometrium. Women who have just had an abortion should rest in bed for at least 2 to 3 days. In the days that follow, you can gradually increase the time you spend getting out of bed and moving around. It is best not to touch cold water or do heavy physical work within half a month, and to take measures to keep warm.

2. Sexual intercourse is strictly prohibited. The cervix has not yet completely closed after an abortion, and the endometrium of the uterus also needs a repair process. During this period, not only should the vulva be kept clean and hygienic, but sexual intercourse is also not allowed. It is particularly likely to cause pelvic inflammatory disease and acute endometritis, and in severe cases, infertility may occur.

3. Pay attention to bleeding. For women who have had an abortion, the symptoms will last for about a week. It may also be accompanied by abdominal pain, fever and other symptoms. If the condition is serious, you must go to the hospital for a follow-up visit.
