What Chinese medicine can be used to treat insomnia

Insomnia is a problem that troubles many people. In mild cases, insomnia can cause poor concentration, fatigue and drowsiness.

In severe cases, people may suffer from mental breakdown and develop suicidal tendencies. Western medicine mostly treats insomnia by giving patients sleeping pills. After a long time, patients will become dependent on sleeping pills and even unable to sleep. Traditional Chinese medicine does not treat insomnia directly. It will find out the cause of insomnia and treat it accordingly.

1. Mugwort

Mugwort has the effect of dispelling cold and dampness. Sometimes too much moisture in the body can lead to poor sleep quality, making daytime work and life extremely tiring. Adding mugwort to soaking feet can expel the cold and dampness that are stagnant in the tendons and veins, making the body relaxed and sleep naturally better.

2. Saffron

Saffron has extremely high medicinal value and many functions. It can regulate blood circulation, relieve depression, calm the mind, and help sleep.

3. Angelica

Insomnia may be caused by excessive fatigue, which leads to insufficient blood supply to the heart and restlessness. Angelica sinensis has the effect of replenishing blood, which nourishes the heart, and when the mind is in place one can sleep well.

4. Astragalus

Astragalus is a great tonic for vital energy, and combined with Angelica sinensis, it can replenish both qi and blood, and can relieve symptoms of fatigue and weakness the next day.

5. Millettia reticulata

Millettia reticulata is warming, sweet and nourishing, bitter but not dry. It can remove blood stasis while generating blood for the heart, and has the effect of activating blood circulation and unblocking meridians.

6. Blood Wind Vine

Xuefengteng is warm in nature and is also a traditional Chinese medicine that replenishes qi and blood. When the qi and blood in the body are sufficient, the quality of sleep can also be improved!
