Aortic tortuosity is a finding on X-rays, which indicates that the patient has aortic sclerosis. Aortic sclerosis can have a great impact on people's physical health, so patients need to receive active treatment. There are many ways to treat aortic sclerosis. Generally speaking, there are three relatively effective methods: comprehensive treatment, drug treatment and surgical treatment!
1. What does aortic tortuosity indicate? Aortic tortuosity and elongation are the manifestations of aortic sclerosis on X-rays. Atherosclerosis is a non-inflammatory disease of the arteries that causes the arterial walls to thicken and harden, lose elasticity, and narrow. There are three main types of arteriosclerosis: arteriosclerosis of the small arteries; sclerosis of the media of the arteries; and atherosclerosis. 2. Comprehensive treatment of aortic sclerosis 1. Eat a balanced diet. The total calories in your diet should not be too high to prevent overweight. Significantly reduce the intake of saturated fat and sugar, limiting fat intake to less than 20g per day, of which saturated fat should be limited to less than 2g. Increase your soluble fiber intake. 2. Maintain moderate physical activity. Set the activity intensity according to your own situation, activity habits, and heart function, and proceed step by step. 3. Arrange work and life reasonably. 4. In other aspects, it is recommended not to smoke, avoid secondhand smoke, and drink a small amount of alcohol. 5. Control risk factors. If you have diabetes, you should control your blood sugar in time, including diet control. The glucose-lowering drugs for type 2 diabetes should not cause hyperinsulinemia, such as Diamecon; if there is hypertension, antihypertensive drugs should be given to lower the blood pressure to an appropriate level; if there is elevated blood cholesterol, high cholesterol should be controlled and appropriate lipid-lowering drugs should be given. 3. Drug treatment of aortic sclerosis 1. Lipid-lowering drugs: statins; fibrates; niacin; cholestyramine; clofibrate; unsaturated fatty acids such as Yishouning, Xuezhiping and Xinmaile; sodium alginate diester. 2. Antiplatelet drugs: aspirin; dipyridamole; clopidogrel; cilostazolidinone. 3. Vasodilators: hydralazine (mainly acts on arteries); nitroglycerin and isoflavone (mainly acts on veins); sodium nitroprusside (acts on arteries and veins); α1 receptor blockers such as prazosin; α2 receptor blockers such as phentolamine; β2 receptor stimulants such as salbutamol; captopril, enalapril; nitroglycerin, diltiazem; salbutamol, valproate, prostaglandins, atrial natriuretic peptide, etc. 4. Thrombolytic and anticoagulant drugs 1) Thrombolytic drugs, such as: urokinase and streptokinase; tissue plasminogen activator; single-chain urokinase plasminogen activator; TNK-tissue plasminogen activator. 2) Anticoagulants, such as heparin, enoxaparin, nadroparin, and bivalirudin. 4. Surgical treatment of aortic sclerosis Surgical procedures such as recanalization, reconstruction or bypass transplantation of narrowed or occluded arteries can also be performed, as can interventional treatments such as placement of stents within the blood vessel lumen. |
