What does active gastritis mean?

What does active gastritis mean?

Nowadays, the increasing pressure of life has caused many people to have irregular diets and suffer from gastritis. Although gastritis does not seem to be a serious disease, it will affect daily life and work when it occurs. Active gastritis generally refers to gastritis in an acute stage, which means that gastritis is gradually getting worse. We need to pay attention to it and adopt regular treatment methods as soon as possible. It is best to eat a light diet at ordinary times.

Why can't chronic gastritis be cured for a long time?

1. Not taking gastritis seriously: Some people often have irregular diets and drink a lot of alcohol due to work requirements, which not only causes fatty liver but also stomach problems. Even if they have been warned by doctors, they often continue to do as they please due to subjective unwillingness or objective prohibition.

2. If gastritis cannot be cured, it is better not to treat it: Chronic gastritis is often induced, aggravated or recurred by improper diet, bad mood or excessive fatigue. Many patients think that recurrent gastritis is incurable and is better left untreated.

3. Random abuse of drugs: Some patients are misled by advertisements and believe that Chinese medicine has few side effects, so they use it at will. In fact, Chinese medicine can only temporarily relieve symptoms but cannot solve the fundamental problem. If there is obvious inflammation and symptoms such as abdominal distension, heating, acid reflux, stomach pain, etc. occur, you should still go to a regular hospital for targeted treatment.

What harm does chronic gastritis bring to people?

1. Gastric bleeding. Bleeding is not uncommon in chronic gastritis: the mucosa atrophies and becomes thinner, blood vessels become exposed, rough food rubs against it, and the mucosa erodes and bleeds, with black stools being the main manifestation. If the amount of bleeding is large, sudden vomiting of blood may occur. In severe cases, patients may experience dizziness, palpitations, dark sleep, sweating, and even shock.

2. Anemia. Chronic gastritis is accompanied by two types of anemia after massive blood loss: megaloblastic anemia and pernicious anemia. Patients have symptoms of anemia, such as dizziness, fatigue, palpitations, and pale complexion. Iron deficiency anemia is caused by, firstly, chronic blood loss; secondly, patients with chronic gastritis eat less and suffer from malnutrition; thirdly, lack of gastric acid.

3. Gastric ulcer. Ulcers coexist with superficial gastritis and erosive gastritis. There is obvious inflammatory stimulation, gastric mucosa atrophy and thinning, and complications of erosion and ulcers. Gastroscopy should be performed in time to avoid delay in diagnosis and treatment.

4. Early stage of gastric cancer. According to statistics from the World Health Organization, in areas with a high incidence of gastric cancer, after 10-20 years of follow-up, the average incidence of gastric cancer is 10%. Their development pattern is: superficial gastritis - chronic gastritis - intestinal metaplasia or atypical hyperplasia - gastric cancer. The carcinogenesis of chronic gastritis is closely related to gastric inflammatory hyperplasia.

Gastric ulcer is a common complication of gastritis, because gastritis can cause damage to the gastric mucosa. If not treated in time, excessive gastric juice secretion and irritating food intake will irritate the gastric mucosa, and over time, gastric ulcer will form.

Upper gastrointestinal bleeding. After gastritis causes gastric ulcer, the gastric mucosa is damaged. If it is not treated in time, it is very likely to cause upper gastrointestinal bleeding, which will threaten your life. Therefore, if you have stomach problems, you must treat them in time, otherwise it will delay treatment and threaten your health.

Gastric perforation. If gastritis is not treated, the gastric juice and irritating substances will stimulate and erode the gastric mucosa. Over time, it will cause the local mucosa of the stomach wall to thin, thereby causing gastric ulcers. If the gastric ulcer is not treated in time, the area of the ulcer will become larger and larger, and the stomach wall will become thinner and thinner, which will lead to acute gastric perforation. Gastric perforation is a very dangerous condition and sometimes life-threatening. I hope everyone can detect and treat stomach problems early.

You must not be careless when it comes to gastritis. If you have gastritis, you must go to the hospital for treatment in time. Otherwise, if the condition worsens, you will miss the best treatment period and endanger your life.
