How to deal with the fear of sweating?

When the body feels very hot, it is actually very uncomfortable. At this time, the body will not only produce a lot of sweat, but it will also easily induce some diseases. In life, some friends are particularly afraid of heat, especially in summer. They basically don’t go out much and dare not do some strenuous exercise because they will sweat a lot. So the question is, how to treat the fear of sweating?

Excessive sweating is called hyperhidrosis. Generally speaking, the causes of hyperhidrosis can be divided into two types: organic diseases and functional disorders.

If excessive sweating of hands and feet is caused by an organic disease, then it is necessary to start with the treatment of the primary disease, such as diabetes, hyperthyroidism and other endocrine system diseases. Another part of hyperhidrosis is caused by functional disorders, such as hyperhidrosis caused by mental tension, excitement, fear, anxiety, pain, and anger. Excessive sweating caused by this reason will generally disappear or decrease as the emotions stabilize. Severe cases can be treated with topical medication.

In addition, for people with a family history of hyperhidrosis of the hands and feet, the disease often begins in infancy or childhood. This type of hyperhidrosis does not occur during sleep or quiet time, and is not stimulated by heat sources.

Hyperhidrosis is abnormally excessive sweating caused by excessive secretion of sweat from the eccrine sweat glands. Systemic hyperhidrosis can be an abnormal physiological reaction, and local hyperhidrosis can be due to sympathetic nerve damage or abnormal reaction.

Recommended treatment

1. Avoid mental stress and emotional excitement. For those with mental and emotional factors, oral administration of oryzanol, bromide, diazepam, etc. can be used.

2. Anticholine drugs such as atropine, belladonna, propantheline, etc. taken orally have a temporary effect and reduce the amount of sweat secretion.

3. Apply astringent drugs topically. 10% glutaraldehyde solution, 2%-4% formaldehyde solution. People with excessive axillary sweating can apply 20% aluminum chloride ethanol solution externally. Patients with palmoplantar hyperhidrosis for 7 consecutive days can also soak in 5% alum solution or compound copper sulfate solution.

4. Iontophoresis therapy using tap water and direct current is suitable for hyperhidrosis of the hands and feet.
