Sublingual bloodletting

Sublingual bloodletting

There is a widely circulated bloodletting therapy on the Internet, such as sublingual bloodletting therapy. According to a lot of information, sublingual bloodletting is an uncommon method and many people dare not try it. Sublingual bloodletting is often promoted as a treatment for diseases such as hypertension. So are series of bloodletting treatments like this really useful? Next, let’s analyze the content of bloodletting therapy together.

Bloodletting therapy usually uses a sterile three-edged needle, a thick needle or a small sharp knife to puncture or cut the superficial veins of specific acupuncture points in the human body. The methods of "puncture" can be divided into point puncture (also known as quick puncture), picking puncture (mostly used for bloodletting in the chest, back and behind the ears), slow puncture (mostly used for bleeding in the superficial veins of the elbows and popliteal fossa), and circumferential puncture (also known as scattered puncture. Used for puncturing bleeding around lesions of skin diseases, etc.). Depending on the disease, the selected acupoints may vary. For example: to reduce high fever, it is advisable to choose to prick Dazhui and Shixuan points for bloodletting; to treat sore throat, it is advisable to choose to prick Shaoshang points for bloodletting; to treat headache, it is advisable to choose to prick the temples for bloodletting; to treat neurodermatitis, erysipelas, carbuncles and boils, it is advisable to choose to prick the areas around the lesions and the corresponding parts for bloodletting; to treat acute gastroenteritis, it is advisable to choose to slowly prick Quze and Weizhong points for bloodletting, etc. It can be seen from this that the operation of bloodletting therapy has strict regulations, particularities and requirements. Non-professionals may aggravate the condition or even endanger their lives because they do not have professional bloodletting tools and are not familiar with and master the operation methods, acupoint selection, and the amount of bloodletting. Therefore, it is recommended that you choose a regular hospital that has undergone professional training and clinical experience for treatment, and do not go to a small clinic or perform bloodletting therapy at home.

So, what is the effect of bloodletting? Experts on the effects of bloodletting say that bloodletting is a dangerous therapy. The basis for this is that a certain doctor let out 850 milliliters of blood to treat a patient's long-term cold. If 850 ml of blood is let out at one time, it is indeed dangerous enough, but the doctor generally states that "the amount of blood let out each time varies from person to person, ranging from 100-200 ml to 400 ml", and experts also admit that "donating 200-400 ml of blood is harmless to the human body." This is using an extreme case to negate the entire therapy.

Bloodletting therapy can not only remove blood stasis in the blood vessels, but also has the effects of reducing fever and purging fire, detoxifying and relieving pain, treating numbness, suppressing vomiting and diarrhea, and refreshing the mind and rescuing emergencies. Bleeding is not just about releasing blood stasis or toxic blood, it is also a stimulation to the blood vessel walls, which are rich in nerves and have endocrine cells in some parts. Therefore, stimulating the blood vessels may also regulate the nervous and endocrine systems. You must be cautious when using bloodletting therapy to maintain health or treat diseases.
