What to do if the blood from a knife cut cannot be stopped

If bleeding does not stop after a knife cut, it is either because the wound is too large or the method used to stop the bleeding is incorrect. In fact, there are many ways to stop bleeding, such as pressing hemostasis method, bandaging hemostasis method, binding hemostasis method, packing hemostasis method, fixation hemostasis method, etc. Different hemostasis methods are suitable for different wounds. These hemostasis methods will be introduced in detail below!

【Pressure to stop bleeding method】

Just press the bleeding area with your hands. For small wounds (such as accidentally bumping into the table, scratching the skin and causing some bleeding), whether you press directly with your hands or through gauze or a cotton swab, it can effectively stop the bleeding. (Be careful - don't look at it and then press it, this will not stop the bleeding well)

【Bandage hemostasis method】

Just use a clean hemostatic cloth, medical gauze or elastic cotton cloth at home, first wrap a circle of cloth of appropriate size around the wound (the cloth used should be larger than the wound, and it must be infected to prevent infection), then bandage it slowly with moderate force, and finally tie it with a bandage. (Be careful not to use too much force, otherwise it will easily cause necrosis of the bleeding area; the force should not be too light, otherwise it will cause the bandage to be loose and will not have other hemostatic effects)

【Binding method to stop bleeding】

A tourniquet was used. First, place a clean cloth on the bleeding area (do not let the tourniquet directly contact the wound, as this will easily expand the wound), and place the tourniquet on the cloth, with a moderate looseness and tightness to avoid failing to stop the bleeding. (Be careful - the tourniquet should generally be loosened every hour or so. When the bleeding has almost stopped, loosen the tourniquet appropriately.)

[Padding hemostasis method]

Just use clean paper or cotton swab to plug the wound until the bleeding stops. For example, when our nose is bleeding, we usually fill the nose with soft paper. When the nose stops bleeding, we will remove the paper. (Be careful - this method of packing can easily damage the wound tissue. If the method is not used properly, it can easily lead to infection. This method is best used under the guidance of a doctor)

【Fixed hemostasis method】

For people who have bleeding from a fracture, you should first fix the fracture (the object to be fixed should be relatively larger than the fracture so that it is not easy to touch the wound), then use gauze or clean cotton cloth to stop the wound, and then use a bandage to remember it. (Be careful - the bandages here refer to those that are wider and softer. Do not tie it directly with a rope. This will not only fail to stop the wound, but may also aggravate the degree of the fracture)
