How to treat neurodermatitis

Everyone is very sensitive about their skin and hopes that it will not be harmed by various kinds of damage. However, neurodermatitis does not make everyone feel at ease. The disease occurs very frequently and is not so easy to treat, which makes everyone heartbroken. It will make people's skin itchy. It is a chronic skin disease that is common in adults but rare in children. Everyone needs to maintain a good attitude and seek treatment in time.

Neurodermatitis is a kind of skin disease that everyone is a little afraid of, but there is no need to care so much about it. Today's medical technology is very advanced, and as long as you receive timely treatment, you will definitely achieve the desired effect. Let’s take a look at it together:

More than 90% of cases occur on the neck, followed by the elbows, sacrum, eyelids, popliteal fossa, etc. The patient first feels local itching, followed by the appearance of clustered millet- to rice-sized, normal skin-colored or light brown or light red polygonal flat papules, which are slightly shiny and covered with a small amount of chaff-like scales. The papules then merge into pieces. Due to the itching, the patient often scratches, which stimulates the skin to gradually thicken and form lichenification with clear boundaries. Scratches are common around the affected skin lesions, and blood scabs are formed.

diagnosis:

1. This disease is more common in young and middle-aged people, with severe itching first and then skin lesions.

2. The rash is flat polygonal papules with lichenification and no exudation.

3. The rash often occurs on the neck, extensor side of the limbs, lumbar region, popliteal fossa, and vulva.

4. The course of the disease is chronic and often recurs.

The purpose of treatment is mainly to relieve itching and prevent patients from scratching due to itching, which will further aggravate the condition.

1. Systemic treatment

Antihistamines, calcium supplements, etc. can be used to relieve itching symptomatically, supplemented by oral administration of B vitamins; sedatives can be used for severe itching; for widespread rash, procaine intravenous blockade or combined use of tripterygium wilfordii drugs can be used.

2. Local treatment

You can choose to use glucocorticoid ointment, cream or solution for external use. For those with hypertrophy, you can seal the area or use 10% black bean distilled oil ointment for external use. Refractory skin lesions can be treated with local intralesional injection of triamcinolone acetonide injection.

I believe everyone knows about the diagnosis and treatment of neurodermatitis. How to treat neurodermatitis is very simple, and there is no need to worry too much. In daily life, we should stay optimistic and reduce skin irritation, which will have a preventive effect on neurodermatitis. In terms of diet, we should not eat spicy food.
