There is a meat ball protruding from the anus during bowel movement

The anus is a common site of disease. What we are talking about here is a disease. When you don't have a bowel movement, you don't notice anything abnormal. But every time you go to the toilet to have a bowel movement, a ball of flesh will protrude from the anus. After the bowel movement, it returns to normal on its own. In fact, this is hemorrhoids, called internal hemorrhoids. To be specific, it is medically called prolapsed internal hemorrhoids. Patients may not have noticed that their stools may contain blood at this time.

How should we deal with prolapsed internal hemorrhoids? This is what we will introduce next.

The most common symptoms of internal hemorrhoids are bloody stools and prolapse. Generally, in the early stage of internal hemorrhoids, prolapse is not very obvious, and symptoms of prolapse will only occur occasionally. After prolapse, it can retract by itself. However, in the later stage, the internal hemorrhoids become more and more serious, and after prolapse, they can no longer retract by themselves, but need to be pushed back by hand. If it is not treated in time at this time, it will cause prolapse when walking, coughing, etc.

Prolapse of internal hemorrhoids

As the hemorrhoids increase in size, they are squeezed by feces during defecation, causing them to gradually separate from the muscle layer and protrude out of the anus. Sometimes 1 to 2 hemorrhoids prolapse at the same time, and sometimes all hemorrhoids and rectal mucosa prolapse together. Initially, it only comes out during defecation and then returns to its original position after defecation.

For those with more severe symptoms, the prolapse must be pushed back by hand or rest in bed before it can be restored. For patients with more severe symptoms, in addition to prolapse during defecation, it may also prolapse when exerting force, walking, coughing, sneezing, squatting, etc. Prolapsed hemorrhoids are extremely susceptible to infection, and may become incarcerated due to inflammation, edema, and pain, leading to recurrence.

Symptoms

1. Stage 1 internal hemorrhoids. In the first stage, internal hemorrhoids only cause painless bleeding in the stool and do not have very obvious symptoms. At this time, internal hemorrhoids are in the early stages and bleed more. If the patient has smooth bowel movements, without anal compression, and even minimal bleeding, the condition is usually not discovered until the later stages.

2. Stage II internal hemorrhoids. The second stage is when the hemorrhoids can be retracted into the anus after prolapse. This is the middle stage and the bleeding may be more or less. But at this point it must be cured through medication or surgery. Internal hemorrhoids take a long time to develop in the early stages and may not seem serious, but the time it takes to worsen from the second stage is very short, the pain will be greatly aggravated, and it will become increasingly difficult to cure.

3. Stage III internal hemorrhoids. When internal hemorrhoids reach the third stage and cannot fall back into the anus, they are likely to cause incarceration, during which the anus will feel distended, uncomfortable, painful and itchy. The pain is caused by the entrapment after prolapse, while the itching is caused by the stimulation of secretions or prolapsed hemorrhoids, which makes the area around the anus damp and unclean, easily causing various inflammations, infections, irritations and worsening of hemorrhoids.

4. Stage IV internal hemorrhoids. What are the symptoms of internal hemorrhoids? In the fourth stage, incarceration often occurs, and in severe cases, even necrosis. If not treated in time, it will get stuck in the anus and form a necrotic blood clot. At this time, hemorrhoid rupture will be very troublesome and may even require immediate surgery.

Preventive Care

1. Try not to sit or stand for long periods of time to prevent blood from stagnating in the anus. Related reading: What are the common symptoms of internal hemorrhoids?

2. Take a warm water sitz bath after defecation or put Chinese medicine soup in the sitz bath for steaming. The time should be controlled between 15 and 30 minutes. It can cleanse and promote blood circulation at the same time.

3. Exercise for at least 15 minutes, avoid the wind when sweating, and persist in doing so to promote blood circulation.

4. Hemorrhoids are often aggravated by drinking large amounts of alcohol and eating spicy foods, such as chili, mustard, pepper, ginger and other irritating foods.

5. Pregnant women with hemorrhoids should avoid sitting or standing for long periods of time, prevent constipation, and correct the fetal position in time. Eat more vegetables, fruits and vegetable oils, eat some sesame seeds and honey appropriately, and keep your bowel movements smooth.

6. Elderly people suffering from hemorrhoids can regularly take black sesame seeds, honey and other foods to keep their bowel movements smooth.

7. Patients undergoing hemorrhoid surgery should eliminate their mental concerns before the operation. Generally, patients eat a small amount of food on the day of surgery and switch to a normal diet the next day. Some patients dare not eat too much for fear of pain caused by defecation and wound infection. In order to keep the bowels open, patients can eat more fruits and vegetables, such as bananas, oranges, celery, spinach and other easily digestible and low-fat foods. Avoid smoking, drinking, and spicy foods such as onions, ginger, and garlic.
