Sudden ear droop symptoms

Sudden ear droop symptoms

Sudden deafness is an idiopathic type of sudden deafness. It is caused by some unknown reasons, which leads to hearing loss in patients. Sometimes it manifests as unilateral hearing loss. Patients often experience tinnitus, dizziness, nausea and vomiting. A small number of patients may experience dizziness and numbness. At this time, it is necessary to receive timely and good treatment and strengthen good conditioning.

Sudden ear droop symptoms

1. Deafness is mostly unilateral and there are usually no precursors before the onset of the disease. A small number of patients have a history of mild cold, fatigue or emotional excitement. Deafness occurs suddenly, and the patient's hearing generally drops to the lowest point within minutes or hours. In a few patients, hearing loss may reach the lowest point within 3 days.

2. Tinnitus may be the initial symptom. Most patients may experience tinnitus when they become deaf, but tinnitus may also occur after deafness. After treatment, the hearing of most patients can be improved, but tinnitus may persist for a long time. 3. Dizziness Some patients may experience varying degrees of vertigo, mostly rotational vertigo, accompanied by nausea and vomiting. It may occur at the same time as deafness, or before or after deafness occurs. 4. A small number of other patients may experience a feeling of stuffiness, pressure or numbness in the ears.

prevention

Since the cause of sudden deafness is still unclear, there are no specific preventive measures. As a general prevention, you can pay attention to the following points in your daily life: 1. Strengthen exercise, improve physical fitness, avoid colds, and prevent viral infections. 2. Avoid overwork, pay attention to the combination of work and rest, and maintain physical and mental happiness. 3. Maintain a balanced diet and eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. Reduce the stimulation caused by tobacco, alcohol, coffee, etc. 4. Control systemic chronic diseases such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia and diabetes. 5. For patients who have suffered from sudden deafness and whose affected ear still does not have a practical hearing level after treatment, in addition to the above suggestions, it is also recommended to protect the healthy ear in particular: ① Avoid exposure to noise; ② Avoid ototoxic drugs; ③ Avoid ear trauma and ear infection.
