What does thyroid 4b mean?

Thyroid 4b is actually the fourth level of thyroid nodules. There are many problems with the thyroid gland, and the degree of the disease symptoms of these problems is also different. There are many distinctions in the levels of different degrees, so we will use some names to completely distinguish them. Maybe many people do not understand thyroid 4b, so what does thyroid 4b mean?

The shape of nodules of this level is very irregular, they are solid echo nodules with abundant internal blood flow, and they are common in differentiated nodules.

Thyroid gland (Latin: Glandula

Thyr(e)oidea (English: Thyroid) is a very important gland in vertebrates and belongs to the endocrine organ. In mammals it is located below the thyroid cartilage in the neck, on both sides of the trachea. The human thyroid gland is shaped like a butterfly and is like a shield, hence the name.

The thyroid gland controls how quickly energy is used, makes proteins, and regulates the body's sensitivity to other hormones. The thyroid gland regulates these responses by producing the hormones thyroxine, triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine, also known as tetraiodothyronine (T4). Both regulate metabolism, growth rate, and regulate other body systems. T3 and T4 are synthesized from iodine and tyrosine. The thyroid gland also produces calcitonin, which regulates calcium balance in the body.

In clinical practice, ultrasound examinations can be used to find that thyroid nodules can be divided into the following grades:

Level 1: This level of thyroid nodules mainly manifests as anechoic nodules with a relatively regular shape, appearing round or oval, and there is no signal of blood flow inside the nodules. This symptom is common with thyroid cysts.

Level 2: Nodules at this level are echo nodules and their shapes are quite regular. And there are signs of blood flow in its internal solid part. Often seen in nodules of thyroid tumors.

Level 3: This level of nodules are solid echo nodules with regular shapes and abundant blood flow inside. And sometimes there is slight calcification inside the nodule. It is often seen in thyroid adenomatous nodules.

Level 4: Nodules at this level are very irregular in shape, solid echo nodules, and have abundant internal blood flow. Often seen in differentiated nodules.
