How to deal with blisters caused by moxibustion?

Acupuncture is a treatment method that everyone is familiar with. It is also the most commonly used treatment method in traditional Chinese medicine. However, it seems that acupuncture is far less popular than moxibustion now. Because acupuncture may require certain techniques, but for moxibustion, as long as you master the principles, you can do it yourself at home. So, what is the best way to deal with blisters on the skin after moxibustion?

1. Treatment of small blisters

Self-absorption

Due to moxibustion, when small blisters appear, if you do not feel any special discomfort, you do not need to do any special treatment, and the liquid in the blisters can be absorbed by itself.

Keep the blistered skin clean

When small blisters appear after moxibustion, you should pay attention to keep the skin of the small blisters clean, avoid contact with hard objects that may puncture the blisters, or avoid wear and tear of hard objects that may cause the small blisters to burst. If you do not pay attention to cleaning yourself, it can easily cause infection.

2. Treatment of large blisters

You can also let it absorb on its own

When large blisters appear after moxibustion, if you feel that the blisters are not tight, that is, the tension of the blisters is not great, and it does not affect your daily activities, you can also let them absorb naturally and refer to the treatment of small blisters.

Can burst blisters

If the large blisters that appear after moxibustion have high tension, they are the kind of blisters that feel swollen, with a translucent and full surface. If conditions permit, you can disinfect the skin at the blister site, then use a non-sterile needle to prick the blister, release the liquid in the blister, and relieve discomfort. If there are no conditions, you can go to the hospital for puncture.

Avoid contact with water

After the moxibustion blisters are pricked, the local area should be kept away from water to avoid affecting the local skin and causing purulent infection.

Topical medications

If the blisters caused by moxibustion rupture, you can apply some drugs that promote healing locally, such as: MEBO's moist burn ointment, which is quite effective.

Stop moxibustion

When blisters appear after moxibustion, the moxibustion treatment needs to be stopped, especially moxibustion in the same area, so as not to aggravate the formation of blisters and cause further damage.
