There are many small red bumps on the arms

The appearance of small red bumps on the arms is generally a symptom of acute eczema. Acute eczema is a relatively common skin disease. If it is not treated and cared for in time, the condition will worsen and have more adverse effects on the patient. Acute eczema can be treated with medication or by some folk remedies to relieve symptoms. Here we will introduce the relevant knowledge about acute eczema in detail.

1. Causes of small red pimples on arms

Small red bumps on the arms may be acute eczema. Acute eczema can occur anywhere on the body, but is often more common on the head, flexor sides of the limbs, genitals, and the backs of the hands and feet. It is often distributed symmetrically and is generally confined to certain parts of the body, while systemic generalized eczema is very rare.

Acute eczema can occur at any age, in any part of the body, and in any season, but it often recurs or worsens in winter. It has a tendency to exudate, a chronic course, and is prone to recurrence. Patients with acute eczema will feel severe itching, with polymorphic skin lesions, erythema, papules, papulovesicles or blisters densely packed in patches, easy to exude, and unclear boundaries.

The clinical manifestations of acute eczema are characterized by symmetry, exudation, pruritus, polymorphism and recurrence. Acute eczema is manifested by scattered small papules and papulovesicles, often accompanied by erosion and crusting. If secondary infection occurs, pustules or thick crusts may appear.

2. How to eliminate the small red pimples on the arms

If the initial acute eczema lesions only show redness, papules or a few small blisters without exudate, you can use external medication with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and low irritation to wet the affected area. Commonly used medicines include: 3% boric acid water, calamine lotion, 2% borneol lotion, 5% alum calamine lotion, etc. If the skin lesions of such patients only manifest as flushing, boric acid talcum powder can be used for treatment as appropriate.

If the patient's skin lesions show symptoms such as blisters, erosions, and a lot of exudate, you can use a liquid compress with astringent, anti-inflammatory, and epidermal cell recovery effects to wet the affected area. Commonly used drugs of this type include: compound copper sulfate solution, 3% boric acid water, 0.5% lead acetate or aluminum acetate solution. If the exudate from the skin lesions of such patients is small, zinc oxide oil or zinc oxide paste can be applied externally for treatment.

Subacute eczema: Patients with this type of eczema can choose oils, pastes or emulsions with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, drying and astringent effects for treatment according to the amount of exudate from the skin lesions and the degree of erosion, hypertrophy and itching of the skin lesions. Commonly used drugs of this type include: 3% black bean distillate oil, 5% black bean distillate oil paste, 2% borneol emulsion, etc.

3. Folk remedies to eliminate small red pimples on the arms

Lithospermum officinale oil: 9 grams of lithospermum officinale. Use an appropriate amount of sesame oil to fry until the oil turns purple, then remove the comfrey and apply the oil to the affected area several times a day.

Egg distilled oil: 7 eggs. After the egg yolk is cooked, put 50-100 grams of sesame oil in the pot and simmer until the oil in the egg yolk comes out. When the egg yolk becomes burnt, take the oil and apply it frequently to the affected area.

Clam powder: 100g clams, 50g Sichuan pepper, 3g talcum powder. Chop the clams into small pieces and fry until golden brown. Add Sichuan pepper and fry until black and smoke appears. Put into a sealed jar and seal it. On the second day, add talcum powder and grind into a fine powder and apply with sesame oil.

Baoyun paste: 60 grams of rosin powder and 30 grams of sulfur powder. Grind sesame oil into a paste, spread it on gauze and roll it into a finger-thick strip. Tie it tightly with thread and soak it in sesame oil for 1 day. Take it out and light one end with fire. Use a coarse bowl and then cut off the ashes of the cloth to take out the drops of medicinal oil. Soak it in cold water overnight and apply it externally. It is especially suitable for those with local infection.
