Peeling of glans penis after circumcision

Peeling of glans penis after circumcision

Circumcision is a very common surgical procedure for men. Men cannot ignore the harm caused by excessive foreskin, such as affecting the harmony of married life and prone to inflammation. After a minor operation, the foreskin will return to its original appearance, but post-operative care still needs to be paid attention to. A man asked why the glans skin falls off after circumcision surgery?

An excessively long foreskin is a big problem for men, because it can easily completely wrap around the penis and cause tears during sexual intercourse. Moreover, if the foreskin is too long, it is easy for a lot of dirt to accumulate inside, causing inflammation of the glans. Therefore, circumcision must be performed when necessary. So, why does the glans peel off after circumcision?

Nowadays, many men undergo circumcision surgery. Some of them will experience peeling of the glans after the surgery. The occurrence of this situation often makes male friends very worried. In fact, this phenomenon occurs in most men after surgery, so there is no need to worry too much.

Precautions after circumcision surgery:

1. Wear loose underwear. Generally, after the operation, the doctor will place a gauze curtain on the perineum after bandaging the wound. The purpose is to reduce the friction of the glans penis.

2. After circumcision, you should rest in bed for 3 to 4 days and avoid standing or sitting for long periods of time. Some young people are too embarrassed to ask for leave after surgery and still insist on working. Due to poor local blood circulation, this directly leads to swelling of the glans penis, affecting wound healing.

3. It is normal to have mild edema of the glans penis within 3 to 4 days after circumcision. This is a reaction of the body caused by the medicine and surgery. Note that the swelling is pink at this time.

4. Do not wet the dressing when urinating. If it is soaked with urine, it should be replaced as soon as possible. You can prepare 75% alcohol or 1:1000 Sanisol cotton balls or isotonic saline cotton balls, wipe the area around the urethra after urination, keep the wound dressing clean, or soak the head of the penis in 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution in warm water every day.

5. Within 3 to 4 days after the operation, take sedatives such as diazepam 2.5 mg before going to bed to prevent penile erection, which may cause pain or bleeding. Young people need to pay more attention
