How long does laser scar removal take?

Many people wonder how long it takes to remove scars with laser. If a person has scars on his body, especially on exposed parts, it will affect his appearance and cause trouble, so people try every means to remove them. Laser scar removal is a new scar removal technology. This technology is very good and has brought good news to many patients. Of course, if the scar is large or the patient has a scar-prone constitution, the effect will not be ideal.

Laser scar removal uses composite color light, also known as intense pulsed light (IPL), which is a wide-spectrum visible light with a special wavelength. Compared with pulsed laser, it has a softer photothermal effect. Composite color light scar removal is a new non-invasive skin medical beauty method developed based on composite color light technology. It can comprehensively improve and treat capillary dilation, various pigmentation spots, fine static wrinkles, enlarged pores, etc. on the skin surface. At the same time, it can improve skin texture and restore skin's luster, tenderness and elasticity.

Laser scar removal requires 1-3 treatments. Each treatment lasts from 5 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the area and type of disease, and is performed in the outpatient clinic without the need for hospitalization. During laser scar removal treatment, there will be some tingling and burning sensations due to the instantaneous high temperature generated locally, but most patients can tolerate it without anesthesia. For a few sensitive patients, we can add local superficial or infiltration anesthesia during the operation to reduce discomfort.

1-3 days after laser scar removal treatment, the treatment area and surrounding tissues will have redness, swelling and exudation, and you may feel swelling and numbness. The redness and swelling will gradually subside, and the laser scar removal surgical wound will be covered with scab. The scab will fall off 1-2 weeks after the operation and the wound will heal.

The surgical wound should be kept clean and dry within 2 weeks after laser scar removal. Do not scrub it and avoid sunlight exposure. Apply antibiotic ointment topically if necessary. The scab cannot be removed forcibly and should be allowed to fall off on its own. After laser scar removal treatment, the local skin color may become redder and then pigmented. Depending on individual circumstances, the pigmentation will gradually disappear after 1-6 months.
