What to do after fever and sweating

Fever and sweating are relatively normal phenomena. We know that colds can easily cause fever, and sweating after fever will cause the body temperature to drop. At this time, you must pay attention to avoid catching a cold and wipe off sweat in time. Another thing to pay attention to is the temperature of the fever. Take corresponding treatment methods based on some manifestations of the temperature. For example, if it is a high fever, take antipyretics in time.

What to do after fever and sweating

1. Wipe away sweat

Babies will sweat after taking antipyretics. Only by sweating can the body temperature drop. It is normal for babies to sweat after taking antipyretics. However, mothers must pay attention at this time. If they find their baby sweating, they must use a dry towel to wipe off the sweat for the baby in time to prevent the baby from catching a cold. Because if you sweat too much, it will evaporate and absorb some of the heat, and if you are not careful, you will be more likely to catch a cold.

2. Change into dry clothes

After the baby sweats, in order to prevent him from catching a cold again, in addition to wiping off the sweat, the baby must never be allowed to wear wet clothes. Clothes soaked with sweat must be changed in time to keep the baby dry and clean at all times.

3. Feed more water

After your baby takes antipyretic medicine and sweats, you should also give him more water to avoid dehydration caused by excessive sweating. Besides, babies should drink more water after having a fever, which can promote metabolism, increase urination, and help reduce fever.

4. Seek medical attention promptly

If your baby shows symptoms of profuse sweating, pale complexion, weakness, etc. after taking antipyretic medicine, you should feed him some sugar water and seek medical attention immediately. Try not to let your child play during a fever to reduce physical energy consumption.

5. Monitor body temperature

When your baby sweats after taking antipyretics, you can monitor his body temperature for about half an hour. If the baby's temperature drops below 38.5℃, it means the medicine has worked and the condition will improve with enhanced care. It is recommended to monitor the temperature every 1-2 hours until it returns to normal. The baby's body temperature should continue to be observed, and if fever recurs, timely symptomatic treatment should be given.
