Green plant shape: evergreen plants or shrubs, 1~3 meters high. The roots are dark gray, with cork layer, which is in a standard detached state. The stems and branches are all four-angled, with twigs extending in a forward direction. The leaves are opposite, whorled, with fine petioles. The leaves are ovate, obovate, ovate-oblong, or elliptic-lanceolate, generally wider in the middle, slightly concave at the top, and narrowly wedge-shaped at the tip. They are 1-3 cm long and 7-15 cm wide, entire, dark green in surface, glossy, light green in quilt, and have thick main veins. The flowers are light yellow, unisexual, scattered on petioles and branch tips. There is usually one female flower on the top and the others are male flowers. The male flowers have bracteoles, 4 sepals, and 4 pistils; the female flowers have 6 sepals, 3-chambered ovaries, and 3 columns. The capsule is spherical, gray-black when mature, and has 3 lobes along the back of the chamber. Green ecology is distributed: produced in various provinces and cities in central my country. Medicinal value: The stems, branches and leaves can be used as medicine and can be harvested throughout the year. Main uses: Poria cocos has bitter and flat effects. It can relieve pain and remove toxins. For treating toothache, hernia pain, sores and boils in summer and bruises, dosage: 3 to 4 qian of leaves.

1. Contains substances

It is the stems and branches of the boxwood tree, a green plant of the Buxaceae family. The phloem mainly contains cycloviro-buxine D, C, cycloprotobuxamine A, C. The leaves contain buxaminol E, cyclokorea-nine B, buxtauine, cycloviro-buxine D, buxamine E, and buxpiine. The leaves and stems contain cycloprotobuxinamine, buxmicrophylline A, buxtauine M, isoscopoletin and epi-lupeol.

2. Effects and efficacy

Relieve rheumatism, promote qi circulation and relieve pain. Treat rheumatic pain, chest bloating, toothache, hernia pain, and trauma. Oral administration: decoction, 0.5-1 liang; or soak in wine. External application: mash and apply.
