Ginger slices are naturally a good health-preserving food, but they should not be consumed frequently. There are also some precautions when eating. Because some people's physiques cannot adapt to ginger slices. Ginger slices taste quite spicy, so morning is not a suitable time to eat them because people’s stomachs are relatively empty in the morning, and stomach pain symptoms may occur easily even after eating breakfast. What are the taboos of eating ginger in the morning?

1. People who cannot eat ginger

(1) People with constipation

Constipation is mostly caused by intestinal heat. Eating too much ginger will aggravate the symptoms.

(2) Those with yellow sputum

People with yellow phlegm have lung heat and dryness. Ginger is warm in nature, so eating ginger can easily aggravate the symptoms.

(3) Bad breath

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that bad breath is caused by stomach heat. Ginger is warm in nature, and eating it will aggravate the original stomach heat for people with stomach heat, and may even cause symptoms such as toothache, headache, and hemorrhoid bleeding.

(4) Those with severe internal heat

People who suffer from lung heat and dry cough, stomach heat and vomiting, bad breath, hemorrhoid bleeding, painful sores and ulcers should not eat ginger. If the disease is caused by heat, you must use cold medicine to neutralize the heat of ginger when eating it.

(5) People with Yin deficiency

Yin deficiency is a dry and hot constitution, which is manifested by hot palms and feet, sweaty palms, a love of drinking water, frequent dry mouth, dry eyes, dry nose, dry skin, irritability, and poor sleep. Ginger is pungent and warm in nature, so people with Yin deficiency will aggravate the symptoms of Yin deficiency by eating ginger.

(6) Hepatitis patients

Generally speaking, hepatitis patients should avoid eating ginger, because eating ginger frequently can cause liver fire. If you want to control the liver fire caused by eating ginger, you can also choose some foods that can soothe the liver and regulate qi. For example, drinking tea made from hawthorn and chrysanthemum can eliminate the heat caused by ginger without hurting your body.

(7) People with hair loss should be careful when using ginger

Many people use ginger externally to treat hair loss. Indeed, ginger is warm and spicy in nature, and it can indeed increase local blood circulation, stimulate the opening of hair follicles, and promote hair regeneration. However, it should be noted that hair loss is a febrile disease. Ginger will generate heat if used for a long time. Using hot medicines to treat febrile diseases conflicts with the principle of "using cool medicines for febrile diseases" in traditional Chinese medicine, so try to use it as little as possible.

2. Foods that cannot be eaten with ginger

(1) Raw seafood

Ginger cannot be eaten together with raw seafood, because raw seafood and ginger will taste smelly.

(2) Wine

Both ginger and wine are warm, spicy and irritating foods. Combining the two can easily cause irritability, heat in the body, and may even lead to constipation.

(3) Rabbit meat

Rabbit meat is cold in nature and tastes sour, while ginger is hot in nature and tastes spicy and sour. The two are very different in taste and constitution, and eating them together can easily cause diarrhea, so they should not be paired. Therefore, it is not advisable to add ginger when cooking rabbit meat.

(4) Horse meat

Eating horse meat and ginger together can cause coughing; avoid eating ginger if you have a sore throat. Ginger is pungent and warm in nature, and has the effects of inducing sweat and relieving exterior symptoms, warming the middle and dispersing cold, relieving adverse reactions, stopping vomiting and removing phlegm, and killing bacteria and detoxifying; horse meat is pungent and cold in nature, and can clear away heat and detoxify, promote blood circulation, warm the meridians and strengthen yang, and nourish the tendons and promote urination. One is pungent and warming and can relieve exterior symptoms, the other one can eliminate heat and relieve gas. The two have opposite natures and flavors, and their functions are not synergistic, so they should not be eaten together.
